  1. Mouslon is getting traded?
  2. We win 12 more games on a second half run I'm feeling better than I did when Blysma was coach.
  3. We'll see what we got when we play the Leafs in March. A good barometer of how far this team has come and needs to go.
  4. Watched the replay of the Johnson/Antipin screw up several times. Marty is definitely biased. That play was harmless if CJ never tried to play the puck, the fact that he choose to go so far out to do it and to leave the net open for a long length of time was a huge mistake by CJ. Then CJ taps the puck toward the open net when he got to it. Double blunder. Antpin and the Tampa forward reach it at the same time with Antipin in a better position. Antipin tries to pass to his defense partner and the Tampa player is able to get a stick on Antipin's so the pass is flubbed to the front of the net. Bone headed play by Antipin to just not take the puck to the corner and cover for the stupidity of the goalie. CJ has been around long enough to know never do that. Antipin has been around long enough to know he will get the bench for that now.
  5. It appears that in the last 20 years college players have risen in the ranks as marketable assets. The way of valuing them and how to handle them as prospects has grow out dated as more kids go to college (which should not be deterred). Seems an updated RFA/UFA set rules is in need.
  6. You have one faithful follower in the NS prediction club (has a certain cult vibe about it though :worthy: )!
  7. I can't be the only one that thought after the Sabres went up by 2 goals there wouldn't be a prevent mode implosion. Tampa scores to bring it within in 1 goal difference...... here we go. The Sabres kept the for-check up, maintained a good deal of the 5 on 5 puck control and closed it out nicely. That was a big difference in play compared to pre-Christmas games.
  8. Not at all worried about drafting 4th, 6th or 8th. We have enough high draft picks to be really good already in theory. Another high draft pick is only conjecture that this team will get good. It's drafting the right player in the 2nd-4th rounds and the right free agent pick ups that will make this team and keep it good for years to come. My example of high drafting and bad choices is of course Edmonton. We cant be the Oilers 2.0. Winning games and instilling confidence will go further than a draft pick that was picked 4th and not 8th.
  9. Is the defense-men whisperer starting to get through to his pupils? I think it's the confidence they are getting as a team.
  10. Most of his articles on WGR read as if he's putting to paper a legible description of his notes from the day. He was always a beat reporter to me, he spent some time and put together as nice read. I like the positive in this.
  11. He really pays for them? And by really, I mean a lot.
  12. From here on out I'm only recognizing NS's prediction. He's been right a 100% of the time that I've been keeping track.
  13. I read the article and concur that it is well written and seems unbiased. I have never heard PH say anything but a player gets better and it's best to be in the AHL before coming to the NHL. He has been a staunch advocated of *riding the bus and smelling the diesel exhaust* for as long as I can remember. It's not surprising that JB and PH have the same philosophy about player development, one would be hard pressed to find someone working in hockey that doesn't.
  14. I used freak because it best describes the random nature of the sport as far as injuries. Why aren't more players injured seriously more often? It really does seem inevitable that teams should have ever increasing man-game lost numbers as players have become bigger/stronger/faster. Prior to Jack going down Buffalo was second in lost-man games for the 17-18 season. I am assuming that is because of our Glass-man defense-man. How is it in the fastest non motorized sport on the cruelest playing surface, with 6 foot long weapons and a projectile that is sent at speed up to 100 mph in a very small playing environment strewn with razor blades are there not more injuries? They are inevitable, but oddly still a freak event.
  15. Both where freak plays that ended in injury. To much randomness to conclude anything other than luck. Whether the luck be good (not career ending), or bad.
  16. Vegas paid 500 million to the owners to be this good. Owners don't care. Next new franchise is going to pay the owners> 700 million. They won't care if the new franchise is good either.
  17. I believe he walks into art deco hotels and steals their curtains.
  18. Thanks, forgot about the RFA/UFA status.
  19. Isn't he on a one year deal ending in July? I think someone gives up a fourth for a rental/just in case the earth stops rotating goalie.
  20. If him, Sam and Evander truly believe they can walk the walk, it's time.
  21. You better spill the beans! And I mean right now Mister! NS out my a......
  22. Me also. Please, someone explain the Dad Joke.
  23. I thought Nelson had his best game to date considering his competition. Could have tied up his man a little better on the first goal, and Johnson could have done a better job of covering the net, if either/or would have happen that first goal wouldn't have happened.
  24. Can they fly home and play another game like the one in Boston? Will the home Sabres finally play at the same level as the away Sabres? Will being Jack-less inspire this team to channel their inner compete and come out playing like we all thought they could? Tune in tonight at 7pm to get the answers and so much more.
  25. Hockey night in Canada last night. Watching between periods of the Sabres game. A real good game between the Habs and Predators. Don Cherry comes on. paraphrase........ The reason the Sabres went from really good on the power play to awful is because they sent Moulson to the AHL. Moulson's talents are being wasted, Sabres are such idiots, blah blah blah. Never once mentioned he had to clear waivers and nobody even looked at him, just said he's a steal for some smart team. If he spent as much time researching his bitch sessions as he did shopping for suits he might be worth a listen to now and again.
