  1. Past hour
  2. Do they still have the no facial rules? The era of dictating grooming standards to a 60s level is long past. How you play and how you conduct yourself are the more important issues. The hair issue on top and on your face are irrelevant and outmoded. Lou L was terrific hockey manager for his era. It's long past.
  3. What's even more obvious and worrisome is that credible candidates have little interest in joining a Pegula owned team. It's widely known that the owner's overhanging presence has made this a pariah franchise to be avoided. Lou L has had an impressive career as a hockey executive. His era is over with. The most impactful change that has to be made is how the owner presides over the franchise. Until there is a change there, this franchise will be unappealing to qualified people who can put this flailing franchise on the right road.
  4. The New York Yankees had a tradition of no facial hair and it didn’t hurt a thing.
  5. To be fair, Alex Tuch is the only player whose beard is an asset. All the other peach fuzz growers can rejoice.
  6. The recommendation for the replacement GM would be his son , Chris. Our owner has given his franchise an identity i.e. peculiar and laughable. It’s so sad and enraging what this silent owner with the big boat has done to this infected franchise. He should be arrested for felonious stupidity.
  7. I don't agree with this. In my view everything the Avs have done for the last 2 years is to try to win now at the expense of the future except in the case of Miko where their hands were tied. Last year they were desperate need for a 2 C so they traded a good asset for Mitt's. At that time and place neither team knew for certain what the next contract talks for either player would be. Mitts played pretty well and got the 3x 5.75. It could have been more if he had a great playoff run. We still don't know what Byram is going to get paid or by who. Assuming he gets no giant offer sheet a bridge contract is possible at something only a bit higher than what Mitts got. No matter what, I don't see how the Avs knew what that would be a year ago. In the meantime the Avs have dealt about every asset they have to try and win now. They only have a 4th and 7th pick this year. They do not have a 1,2 or3 next year. With Landeskog coming back they are over the cap with 6 UFA contracts. I don't blame them for what they tried to do. When you have 2 great players in their prime you have to go all out to support them. 2 years in a row they lost to the Stars in game 7's that could have gone either way. If they got past them either year maybe they could have another cup. It's a different team in a different place than the Sabres. It's hard to turn over that many players during the season and play as a unit. They are going to have a tough off season, but what ever they do it will be for the now in expense of the future because of the high end players they have in their prime.
  8. 🏝️ https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/05/13/douglas-cifu-florida-panthers-social-media-suspended/ The NHL suspended Florida Panthers minority owner Douglas Cifu following comments he made Sunday on social media. Cifu posted the offending messages on X during a spat with a Maple Leafs fan after the Panthers defeated Toronto in Game 4 of their second-round Stanley Cup playoff series. The fan opened the back-and-forth by commenting on several high hits by Panthers players against the Maple Leafs and then invoked the Israel-Gaza war. Cifu had displayed five Israeli flags in the bio of his X account. “Hey what’s worse, using headshots to win a series or using starvation as a weapon to win a war?” the user wrote. In response, Cifu called the Toronto fan a “whiny dope,” later posting, “Eat s--- 51st state anti semite loser,” an apparent reference to President Donald Trump’s comments in recent months that he wants to see the United States add Canada as its 51st state. The posts were deleted soon after, and Cifu’s X account has been deactivated. The NHL on Monday suspended Cifu from any involvement with the team or the league. “The NHL has concluded that Mr. Cifu’s X posts were unacceptable and inappropriate,” the NHL said in a statement, which was first reported by the Toronto Sun. “As a result, Mr. Cifu has been suspended indefinitely from any involvement with the Club and the NHL. An in-person meeting will be scheduled with Mr. Cifu and the Commissioner at a date to be determined.”
  9. I doubt it happens but god forbid Lou came in as Senior Advisor and ruined the 15 year dynasty that Pegula has put together here.
  10. Today
  11. My fear would be he'd want himself as that GM and I want nothing to do with 0 info and anti-beard mn
  12. Lou’s first piece of advice to Terry will be to fire Adams and bring in a real GM.
  13. Good job on this.
  14. Lou certainly fits the "senior" part of the equation. I'm actually all for that. Why not have a cranky old man in there to not take any crap and tell Kevyn when he's being an idiot (so like, every day). We need a contrarian and Lou could be that.
  15. Everybody wants a pay day and everybody has a price.
  16. Hellebuyck allowed at least three goals for the ninth time in 11 playoff games this year, the 18th time in 21 games including the previous two postseasons.
  17. If true I will miss hearing his "at tall"
  18. Why did we get rid of Boosh?
  19. Not looking good. Team doing him no favors.
  20. Oh I get. To me that look is terrible as well ( although the stretch addition in the jeans is really nice). However, the sneaker thing pisses me off. There's a time for formal and there's a time for casual. Mixing that seems inappropriate to me.
  21. Lucic and Miller in the booth Lehner between the benches
  22. At least he gets to call championship wins unlike the other Buffalo teams...
  23. But the player would have to sign it, right? I doubt that happens.
  24. His asking price won't reflect potential. He's going to want established defenseman money, and IMO it won't be worth it... especially given hasn't shown himself to be capable of playing good hockey without Dahlin.
  25. His tenure in NJ was one of the longest and most successful of any GM in his time. 27 seasons, 5 Cup appearances and 3 Cup wins. Given the past 14 seasons, if he advises Adams I just can’t see it hurting. Not sure this is real though.
  26. Ha... Hellybuck
  27. There you go. My memory is fuzzy.
