If replacing KA with Jarmo why bother with an announcement?  Just give JK the autopen and let KA ride out the rest of his term?  Certainly removing KA will placate the fans but we don’t really know what’s going on behind the curtain anyway.  Maybe Jarmo is already in charge.  
 

Or, maybe KA rejected this offer.  If it does happen JK would need to come out soon with a vision to build credibility with the team and the league.  Sabres have none right now.  NFLXM was talking today like KA’s already gone.

It is not about fans knowing KA is out. Yeah, we need to know BUT…

The league owners, POHO’s & GMs, Players, Agents, etc. all need to know & need a clear understanding of what the plan, focus, etc. will be. 
 

This is the first step to regaining respect & legitimacy, only the first.

Are you still doing that today? Those communication skills have just about bottomed out. I sit through so many meetings each week where even senior people are throwing out the work “like” every 2nd or 3rd word. I just cringe the whole time, feeling very glad that I don’t have a camera on as I roll my eyes.

A lot of chatter it will be Lindy to President, Jarmo to GM, Appert to coach.

That would be the most Pegula thing to do. 3 people in house already being paid being moved around. No real search to improve not an extra penny spent. Same old 💩 

Again only speculation but based on everything we have seen of  how this organization has been run it is the option that sounds most likely.

Agree on the surface, but this might be a little reductive/old fashioned. I find hockey personnel in general to be monotonous and disingenuous, which is not what I'd call effective communication.

Hate to say it, but let’s hope they drop the Vancouver and Kraken games. It’s for the greater good. Winning both would ultimately be bad for the long term health of the team. 

If I knew that loses against Vancouver and Seattle would clinch it, I would be right there with you.  The greater good 

hopefully the decision has been made and they are just waiting to announce it 

Adams being fired would be a jolt of energy throughout the organization, players , coaches and fans

I was "promoted" to an admin position last summer (long story r/t a misdiagnosed detached retina...). I have the privilege of sitting in on admin meetings, and you are 100% correct, regarding communication skills 😬

Best case scenario is we beat Seattle, come home on a three game win streak that keeps us in the mix (barely), on Monday Adams is reassigned in the organization, Jarmo takes over as GM and promptly makes a trade that signals there is a new Sheriff in town, and that sparks the team on a run.

I know we all want to see a Game of Thrones-style walk of shame for Kevy but I refer you to Matthew Fairburn from the Athletic more or less predicting an orderly transition from Adams to Kekalainen for weeks now. The actual moment may will be rather anti-climactic.

I retired. At the end of an exhausting career there was a boss who was the #2 man in a relatively large agency acting like a cartoon dictator and  being obnoxious and condescending in his presentation. There were a lot of big shots at the gathering. During his bloviating I stood up and interrupted his public display of stupidity and politely asked him if he recognized how stupid he sounded? The audience  went dead silent.

He was a big fellow who went to an NFL training camp. He wanted to kill me for humiliating him. I was at the end of my career. Needless to say, I had to watch my back.

It would be a mistake to make a trade just to demonstrate that you are doing something. That’s when you make a bad deal. I’m not looking for flashy actions as I am more demonstrations of thoughtfulness and competency. The offseason is the time to make deals that restructure the roster.

However, a change in GMs will be a clear sign to the players that changes will be made and the status quo will no longer be tolerated.  And I’m sure most of the players will appreciate that.
