Cost the team net two goals tonight. The other night, he had the penalty on the PK causing them to play 5-3.  offside when Tage scored then reversed on a coaches challenge.  He is absolutely not earning his pay this year. I was not a fan of the trade, and I was ambivalent about resigning him. Only b/c I hated the alternative of having a rookie take that spot.  He had the second worst xGA. Worst was…wait for it, Timmons. That dude has fallen off a cliff.   Greenwayregistered one hit and had one very good blocked shot at the end.  The injuries and poor play coupled with a $4m salary makes me hate Adams that much more. Untradeable at this point.  Unless there a drastic change I’m done too.

Have an early morning appointment, so went to bed after the 2nd period.

Just watched the final 20 minutes.

Sabres went into Alamo mode with no attack. Left Lyon to fend for himself.

Lyon was fantastic. Kept us in the game.

Remarkably, Sabres didn’t give the game away in the final few minutes. 

Timmons is a liability on the ice. Turnover Machine. Seen enough of him.

Two wins in a row, and on the road. Have two days to get ready for Seattle.

Chance to extend the winning streak and finish the road trip even up 3-3. Would be huge after losing the first two.

Expecting Zucker, Tuch, and Norris back in the lineup.

Last night was an example of how being outplayed doesn’t have to mean being out worked. The Sabres were outplayed. The Canucks had the puck, the zone time, the scoring chances. But the Sabres worked their butts off to defend the lead. It wasn’t pretty, but it was the sort of win you need to get on the road, in game 5 of a 6 game trip, with a depleted roster. No complaints. They all can’t be master pieces.

I have to agree with that statement. If people here think that win was "character building" and a start towards respectability, a better hockey club (because the Canucks stink, like Calgary does and St. Louis does) destroys Buffalo in the 3rd period. Yes, it's nice to get a win but watching that gives me no hope of any "turnaround" in this hockey club. They hung on and Alex Lyon gave them a "Hasek-like" performance God bless him. 2 shots on goal and trying to protect a one goal lead? Same old, same old. A long long road ahead still. Kracken coming right up to which the Sabres are 1-7 since Seattle entered the league. Let's see what that outcome is.

The dreaded possible third win in a row. We might be dead last in the East, but we'd be 5th from the bottom in the West. Very different over there.

I forgot they played until I saw highlights on NHL channel..  All I saw was #4 Byram getting burned on defense for 2 goals.

Looks like Kuntar only had 5:12 of ice time, which was 10 seconds more than Bryson. Did Bryson get hurt or something? Can't imagine why he'd be stapled to the bench with the way Timmons was looking last night.

I think Timmons is playing too high & too much, due to injuries. Still bottom 4hav not been good enough

Well, they won a game I saw in person -- it's pretty rare in VAN and SEA. But dang was it some sloppy hockey.

As we were walking out I told Lady Ebriate it was their first regulation road win of the season and an adjacent Canucks fan looked at us in horror before disappearing into the crowd.

Really? That game was THE game you rested "hope" on? 

At this point the entire situation is beyond absurd and giving a single game in Western Canada any meaning whatsoever is taking the meaningless details of life far, far too seriously.

They won, Benson got his goal, Lyon got the win, and they did it with great shot economy.

That's it - enjoy the moment! It's the Sabres.

Bryson might have been in Lindy’s bad books for allowing Podkolzin 4 shots from just outside the paint while being right on him.

I want to see Kesselring back ASAP and move Timmins down, he has really fallen back after a solid start to the season.

I didn't think Kesselring would be neck and neck with Norris for fewest games played this season. Hoping he can come back after this roadtrip.

Agree entirely. There’s a difference between winning three games in a row and being a winning team; a huge difference.
