True.  But he came to mind because he showed up at 25, never played in the NHL, and leads his team to a Cup.   

Binnington is even more volatile than UPL, with higher highs and lower lows.  Wins a Stanley Cup as a rookie, selected to NHL All Star first team, wins a  Gold in 4 Nations tournament.  

Currently he has a 3.34 GAA and a 0.859 SV%.    He is not looking like an Olympic team goalie for Canada.

My quick $0.02 is that the thinking is that we desperately need to close out a win in regulation so they are playing their best goaltender while they are short handed with their forward group. 

Not saying I agree or disagreem, but that is likely the thinking.

They would proceed to win 7 of the next 9 games to climb to 3rd place in the Atlantic with a record of 11-9-1.

If history is a guide, good times are ahead 🙂

Well I would have played Ellis, just because, but whatever. 

Blues are sucking this year so pounce on them early. The Montgomery magic seems to be gone.

Unless it's a trade pending that's some serious message sending. Sabres should do that with Quinn.

The big difference between Binnington and UPL is Binny hsa 6 seasons in the NHL at .900 or better.

Interesting that Draftkings only has STL at +114 on the moneyline. Not that much of an underdog considering this is night 2 of a road back-to-back. The sharps seem to agree with your line of thinking.
