Tuch did get himself in front of the net to contribute. We need the big guns to get going. With that said, it’s so nice to get a W with guys like Kozak, Timmins, Doan, Quinn contributing. Hats off to Ellis. Three huge stops on two breakaways and that two on one post-to-post stop was ten bells. Tuch has the look of a guy right about to break out. Seemed like he got annoyed after he missed the net and then ripped that short side shot off the post...I'd bet on him to net one sooner rather than later. **his net-front presence/screen was a major factor on at least two goals tonight. 4 minutes ago, Flashsabre said: Kulich-McLeod-Östlund-Kozak should be the centre spine until Norris is back. Big roles for 3 youngsters and McLeod is a 3rd line Center. think they need to make a move Leafs fans complaining about effort of their team IF the Sabres can bring this speed and energy against them, they could be looking at a 3 point weekend 1 Quote

Uh you mean KoSHAQ? I’ve always thought Tuch should buy a barn — maybe then he’d finally be able to hit the broad side of one consistently Edited 13 hours ago by Crusader1969 1 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Tuch is always going for corners, so missing the net comes with the territory. He could shoot into the goalie's crest each time. But -- that he's always missing the net is a fallacy. He simply alternates good and poor shooting percentages by season. This season is his down year. S% by year: 8.8 | 11.1 | 8.2 | 12.7 | 8.6 | 16.5 | 11.5 | 18.4 | 5.9 coming into tonight's game. The good news is the high percentage years keep increasing. Next year, he'll shoot 20%+ (for some team) and be a 45+ goal scorer. Quote

Will be deflating if they lose and fall multiple games under .500 again, while the Leafs move into winning territory. Will conversely be a nice boost to beat the Leafs and surge past them. *I know focusing on the standings this early is silly, but we also know the Sabres cannot afford to stumble early with how stacked the East appears to be, and how flawed the Sabres still look to be. GASabresIUFAN Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Was this effort tonight because they were trying their hardest for the rookie goalie or was it an attempt to establish a more physical net front game? I hope it's the later. 1 Quote

Doohickie Posted 12 hours ago Author Report Posted 12 hours ago Perhaps the stacked division coupled with a 3 game losing streak to start, instilled a sense of desperation in the team that's motivating them not to fall further behind. If they can turn it around to start winning more than they lose because that desperation, the desperation may become habit. As long as I've been a fan, when the Sabres hustle, they win. Let's hope the hustle we see becomes "normal" for this team. 4 1 Quote

That's a tough question. I think it's a non issue but if somehow they did, I think Pegula will give him an extension and that would be bad so we really can't win on that. Quote
