I mean...no idea what to even say. After you get shutout at home to start the season, how in God's name do you think it's acceptable to have an even worse performance against the Bruins where you only get 1 shot on goal in the 1st period??

The more things change, the more they stay the same.  A team who constantly thinks they are the only team in the NHL entitled to wins instead of having to go earn them.

If you asked them to increase their level of compete during and after the 1st Period, they’ve tuned you out Ruff.

You should resign.

This is the 5th coach under this regime. They’ve been the same under all of them.  What’s been consistent? The owner, the GM and the players.  All of which are culpable in this circumstance.

It is two games in and he already sounds super exhausted.

I just don't get this group. It has to stem from maybe the worst onboarding process in the NHL. And that isn't a knock on Lindy or Donnie. That is on Adams. He just handed the kids the keys to the car.

Hard to compete if you're not good enough.

That has ZERO percent to do with it. Effort/compete and talent have no correlation or dependency on each other.  You can still play like you give a f**k even if you aren't necessarily good at it. Also, let's not pretend like this team doesn't have 2 elite players in Thompson and Dahlin who are plenty "good enough".  It's hard to be this bad when you have two elite players along with enough supporting talent around them that seems to play well everywhere else.

32 Thoughts opened with the Sabres today. Nothing good to say at all. They played Lindy’s clip and mentioned the team being on a short leash with Dahlin and Tage.

Fun!

I might have to give it a listen. I know shadenfreude is taking pleasure in the demise of others, what’s it called when you are taking pleasure in your own demise? Masochism I suppose.

The need to put this sick dog down. Put us out of our misery. I have no idea what that entails but it’s needs to stop.  Fire everyone, trade everyone. Sell the team so they can relocate.  Just get this garbage out of my life.

It sure does seem like they've quit on Ruff.  Clean house.  Now.

Letting this fester through the entire season so everybody can be let go with no outstanding money owed will convert this from a single additional lost season into an additional 3-4 lost season affair.

They actually played hard for Donny for about two years and showed some improvement.  Adams failed to address obvious goaltending issues, the need for veteran leadership and toughness, and the overall roster depth.   That would have taken a few smart trades, parting with prospects, and spending closer to cap.   It all fell apart on itself.

Probably why no other teams employ the develop solely from within and "no blockers" strategy???

We are now seeing the longer term effect.  The youth is regressing, and starting to want out.  Lindy can complain about the level of compete but other than a handful of players he is not being heard.

Game 3 - maybe they will surprise us and start playing to their potential.  Maybe something eventually clicks?  I doubt it but maybe.

Fix it; just fix it. I don't think I'll live through another rebuild.

I'm not there with you on moving the team yet, although.. to be honest.. it wouldn't crush me if that happened.

As far as everything else... Trading players, even the Stars... Coaching or front office moves.. Even a new owner... I'm all for as many of those as possible that can happen right now.

Then Dahlin and Tage are part of the problem - where were they stepping up when the team was sucking the last 2 games?? What do they have to say for their effort that gives them the gall to think they are above this and deserve better??

enough with this players deserve better BS - they are not producing. Our issue is that we have an entire team of betas and below, and no alpha players. That’s why they do better on other teams because none of them actually are the main guy… They can just play carefree because someone else is actually pushing the team. Even Sam and Jack are not the main leaders on their team… They’re way better because they don’t have to be. Someone needs to step up here and show some balls and be an actual leader.

Quite frankly, if this is the sentiment during game 2 of 82, the team is lost. Lindy makes no appreciable difference. The top players on the team aren’t making a difference.  The new players are hurt or inconsequential.  Our biggest issue is not knowing how or when it’s going to end.  No one is being held accountable.  Lindy doesn’t like the effort, take the biggest offended from that game and make an example of them. Send them down, trade them or put them on waivers. These guys are too comfy being complacent.  No incentive to try hard. So find players that will.

Teams that don't "compete" are just teams that lack talent. You can't squeeze water from a stone.

I was wondering if Lindy’s dinosaur brain could decipher what is unfolding in front of him.  Based on what I’ve seen, he either doesn’t know or doesn’t care.

I can understand that.

I think I'm different for a couple of ways.

1. This team and this franchise brings very little joy to my life... And it's been like that for a while..

2. For a good part of my life, I had moved away from Western New York before returning recently, and I found out that I didn't need the daily talk about a local team for me to enjoy the sports.

3. I used to love the bills. Watched every game, always played with them when I was a kid in video games, memorized the rosters. Mega fan. Now I really don't care about them much at all. My life hasn't materially changed having the bills being a big part of it versus not.

So no, I don't want them to leave but if they did.... It wouldn't have a major impact on my life... I would fill the void with something else and honestly... That's something else would probably actually be better and make me happier.
