thewookie1 Posted yesterday at 12:07 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:07 AM More like the powerless play.... They need to move more and cycle with their feet not just with passing from particular quadrants like immobile turrets in a tower defense game. Thompson should occasionally work his way behind the net while Dahlin flows into his spot and the middle guy, Tuch, covers the point. Then continue to move around drawing the attention of the PKers to Thompson moving about and other guys moving around flowing from place to place. Thompson is most deadly at his shot point but isn't inept otherwise, he still has a deadly shot from any spot in the offensive zone and demands attention by the PKers. If he were to work around the net while the puck cycles up top he may end up open in Norris's spot or given a space to work to the center for a snap shot. Meanwhile another guy may end up left alone in Thompson's usual area creating chaos amongst the PK. Right now I feel like I'm watching the old NHL games animated depictions of different Power Play Set Ups, very stiff and looped. Quote

He claims to have spent the entire off-season studying effective PPs and working with the analytics department to really revamp things and make the PP more effective. The ONLY thing that was modified effectively from last year was Norris was brought in to take FOs on the PP so they didn't have to try that ridiculous entry right from the get go. But he's now broken again, so they're back where they started. Honestly can't recall disliking any coach on this team more than Appert (and Wilford is neck and neck with him). Krueger, Housley, Rolston, Goober; none of them were as infuriating as this idiot. And they all were really bad at their job. There are SOOOOOO many things this unit could be doing to actually be effective. Most all of them have been listed here myriad times. And that idiot is in line to be the next HC. Have no idea what this management team is attempting to accomplish. 2 1 1 Quote

SABRES 0311 Posted yesterday at 01:03 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:03 AM It’s more like the Owen Power Play. Weak as hell not an overly positive factor in a game. Quote
Rasmus_ Posted yesterday at 05:26 AM Report Posted yesterday at 05:26 AM Apert needs to be the first sacrifice to this season. Fire him before the start of the third period tomorrow. 2 Quote
