My first MLB game was the Angels at Jays in 1977. Joe Rudi hit a HR, but the Jays won. Don't really remember much else. It was a thrill

Joe Rudi.   There is name from the past.   Rudi was a very good all around ballplayer and he was an important piece of the A’s championship teams that won 3 World Series in the early 70’s.

As long as we are talking Jays memories, my wife(then girlfriend) and I went to the CNE and I dragged her to a Red Sox vs Jays doubleheader at the old Exhibition Stadium.  Jim Rice hit 3 HR in I believe the 1st game…couldn’t get her to sit through both games. 😂

I remember the snow, Dave Steib starting, and I believe it was delayed a day because of weather.

CNE stadium!

The Jays starting pitcher was Bill Singer, Steib was opening pitcher for the first time six years later in 1983.

Yeah - poor memory at my age. I looked it up - Steib wasn't even in the bigs until 1979. Game played on opening day, despite the snow.

I won’t be rooting for or against any one team as long as Philly loses to the Dodgers.  F Philly and all of their sports teams.

What a great night.  The Phillies get knocked out on an all-time game ending playoff blunder, and the Eagles lose to the underdog Giants. 🎉

To the bottom of the 12th. The Tigers and Mariners are having themselves a game.

Indeed they are.  And whoever wins will have tired legs and sore arms on Sunday evening.

I won't lie, I actually think baseball is VERY boring.

But.. I worked night shift the other night when the Tigers lost in the 15th and even I can admit that was high quality sports. Certainly more exciting than the Sabres (and that's sad to speak)

I guess I'll pull for the jays and try and catch a bit more from this point out.

Ain't no way I can even think of paying attention to regular season and it's 400 games 😂

You follow the Sabres yet think BASEBALL is boring?

The pitch clock has made a BIG difference.  Also, batters cannot step out of the batter’s box and can only call time once.  It has helped a lot with folks like me who have shorter attention spans.

Historically, hockey is more exciting by far.... Minus the last 15 years of Fandom 😑😩😥 this year watching the world quilting championships may be more exiting than my beloved team.

There are very few that can follow all 400 baseball games a team plays in a season. But you don't really have to to enjoy the sport.

Baseball is nice because it's that one constant that's on all summer long. Most times I'm too busy to catch the games, but it's always nice to have it as a fall back for when I'm not busy since it's on almost every day. Also nice to just be able to check a score at the end of the night when I get home or in the morning before work.

I'm always a bit said when I have a free night and the Jays have the night off.
