I think he will be a Yanni Gourde / Alex Killorn middle-6 glue player for a really good NHL team one day. The Sabres have too many bottom six players. Krebs can be replaced with Kozak. I’d trade Krebs and throw in Samuelsson to get out of his contract, and make room for Ryan Johnson. Quote

Despite not many more points, I thought last year was Krebs best season by far regarding his overall game, and he even got better as the season went on. 2 3 1 Quote

There is no question that Krebs played his best last offseason. But even acknowledging that what is his upside and highest role? I don’t seeing him being able to earn a top two line role. However, he should be able to play well as a third or fourth line player. I’m not pushing to get rid of him because he is a contributing role player. But if he was included in a trade deal that brought us back a second line caliber of player, I would be receptive to that type of deal. 1 Quote
Eleven Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM If you think Kozak is going to be a better player than Krebs, congratulations. You are now qualified to be the next Sabres GM. 6 Quote
That Aud Smell Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM As a recovering Krebs supporter: I think people like him more than his game warrants because he looks the part. I mean he really looks the part. Dude presents as an Albertan fu*ked up hockey nose version of a Hollywood leading man. But he is demonstrably a replacement level (or worse) NHL’er. Time to abandon the man crushes. I mean … https://www.instagram.com/p/DGtlK4cOK83/?img_index=3&igsh=MXVmdmwyMG9wNHh3dQ== hamma nah hamma nah. But no. (Slide 4) 1 1 2 Quote

RPop Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago What’s up with Roslovic ? Seems to be a FA that the Sabres could fit in at $3.5m.. flexible to play C. Issues around attitude seem to be brought up. Best available player at a position of need 🤷🏻♂️ Quote

dudacek Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago (edited) I’m not sure exactly how replacement level is defined, but I don’t think it’s Peyton Krebs. Im thinking the 12/13th forward is a good proxy? There are 344 forward positions available in NHL starting line ups. Krebs rankings for various stats: Games played: 81 3/4 forward Goals: 10 8/9 (Wenberg, Tanev, Appleton, Ryan Strome) Points: 28 7/8 (Kerfoot, Mangiapane, Henrique, Dowd) TOI: 13:56 7/8 (Gallagher, Goodrow, Domi, Crouse) +/-: +1 6/7 (Boldy, Cooley, Barkov, Granlund Face offs: 49% 6/7 (Schiefel, Coyle, Point, Backlund) Hits: 136 3/4 (Lowry, Staal, Evans, Lomberg) Blocked shots: 32 7/8 (Tkachuk, Byfield, Paul, Kadri) SA%: 49.4% 6/7 (Rust, Point, Mercer, Marchand) Statistically speaking, last year’s Krebs was well-above replacement level and looks like a pretty solid 3rd-line NHL forward. So maybe GMTM still has a chance to win that one? Quote

(Stats based on all NHL forwards with 66+ games played) I appreciate your digging into those #s, although I will admit confusion in how they’re presented. As to the “pretty solid” assertion: I’ll agree to the extent that, if Krebs is a fixture on your team’s 3rd line, then your team is most likely an ~82 point squad. Dude’s mid. I pine for the days of players like Roy and Vanek carrying the third line. 1 1 Quote

Names are players with similar numbers in that particular category Edited 4 hours ago by dudacek Quote
