GASabresIUFAN Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 (edited) lol. What was his Q-offer? 900k? Who the heck is running this franchise. What a joke. Good luck JBD, you played well for us in your limited time. Congrats on escaping Adams hell. Maybe they already have a deal in place and therefore didn’t need to make a Q-offer? shrader Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 (edited) Or they just get something done with Bernard Docker anyway. They’ve had a few of these the last few years. Hell, the whipping boy Bryson wasn’t qualified last year. Edited June 30 by shrader Quote
msw2112 Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 (edited) Let's hope so. The guy played well last season and turned out to be a major piece of a big trade. If they let this guy walk, they are truly the imbeciles that we all believe them to be. And yes, Bryson continues to be a head scratcher. He's fine as a 7th-8th D-man and has played some decent minutes here and there, but there was no reason to lock him up when they did (early) and how they did (one way contract). I'd be OK with re-signing him at the price that they did AFTER the draft, free agency, etc. If they still needed a 7th-8th D-man at that time, he would have been fine. What was the hurry? DarthEbriate Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 In summer 2024, they didn't qualify Bryson, then signed him the next day. JBD could follow suit, unless... you know... he doesn't want to be here. Quote

DarthEbriate Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 Say what you will about him... but Adams never missed a QO deadline with a jammed fax machine or anything. Hasn't just let an entire RFA wave walk to market. So he's got that going for him. 2 Quote

Then he claims he only wants people that want to be here, why exactly would they want to be here? 1 1 Quote
Taro T Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 Why Santy Claus, WHY? Per puckpedia, his QO is only $866k. If they already have a deal in place with him that they'll re-sign him to $805k again provided nobody else tries to sign him, cool, I guess. But are you REALLY going to go THAT hard after a true difference maker that you need that extra $60k in your quiver to make it all work? 1 Quote
JohnC Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 The Sabres have a reputation for being bad. Now it has gotten to the point they will earn a reputation for being weird. Maybe the have a deal worked out???? 1 Quote

thewookie1 Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 JBD and Kisakov weren’t qualified JBD better be re-signed or that’s a major issue. Quote

The only way this makes sense is if they have a deal for less than $866K that Bernard-Docker said would be acceptable to him provided nobody else beats it and if for some reason the Sabres are confident that nobody will beat that deal.
