Gives the Sabres a better goalie than UPL IMHO, gives Allen a slight raise, and gives Allen a starting possibility if he beats out UPL I was just listening to I forgot the guys name on TSN and it's said he's asking for 5M AAV, now i know it's just what he wants but the Sabres might have to pony up for that if they want his services. dudacek Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago I wouldn’t mind Joel Hofer from the Blues as part of a Byram trade. Thatcher Demko is a top 10 goalie consistently underrated by Sabrespacers who I don’t think watch him much. He would be the single most helpful asset on the market to getting the Sabres into the playoffs. 3 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago Assuming no Demko would Korpisalo be adequate for a few years until Levi can shove him aside? He did play pretty decently in Boston (outplayed Swayman) and I'm pretty sure Boston would move that contract for picks/prospects and fairly cheap. Quote

Meanwhile, Ullmark is on his 3rd team and Levi is still not starting material (and there’s a chance he’ll never be). I have more faith in Levi than UPL at this point. Quote

I'm not trying to sway anyone on this, but of all the accomplishments of UPL and Levi, the single most impressive thing that either of them has done, and it isn't close in my view, is UPL playing 54 NHL games in 23-24 and going 27-22-4 with a 2.57 GAA and a .910 save %. Nothing Levi has done in his career, comes close to this as it relates to actually translating to NHL success. I wouldn't say I have tremendous faith in UPL at this point, but at least it can be said he has an actual good NHL season in his recent history. 3 Quote

Don't be trying to get Korpisalo (1 good half season every 4 years) and his garbage contract off of the Bruins ledger. He and his sub.900 game are stuck there forever. The Sabres already have that guy in Luukkonen. 1 Quote

And he cleaned up a lot of his issues in that really nice stretch at the end of the season. But almost all of those issues re-appeared again last year - Short side cheating, like no side to side moves, rebound control etc. Quote

Would be nice if him and Levi could somehow split the duties and provide some consistency Quote
Flashsabre Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Sounds like Canucks are extending Demko. Don’t know what their plan is there. 1 Quote

apuszczalowski Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I don't think there's much out there on the FA market, and chances are Edmonton goes hard after the top available. I still think Levi spending another year in Rochester is a good thing, and UPL is still young for a goalie who misses a lot of time from early injuries. He could still develop into something but he probably needs a good backup who can help carry some of the work load if he has some bad games. Quote

Warriorspikes51 Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago please acquire a legit goalie that is mostly consistent. So badly needed. Quote

Not true He has a plan, it's to let the kids develop into superstars which will make them a cup dynasty for the next decade. It's why they won't sign anyone to a deal that would potentially make them better and block one of the precious prospects.... Quote

Speaking of which, wonder just how much of standing pat at the trade deadline 2 years ago (edit, eh, 3 years now actually) was Granato believing he had what they needed in the room, Pegula not wanting to spend any more than he already'd agreed to, and Adams not wanting to lose any of his precious prospects? Expecting it was most likely most heavily Donny's beief in his room that led to that. And he was literally 2 goals from the trade deadline on away from being right. 2 more goals in any game they lost in regulation by 1 goal and he was right and the whole trajectory of how things are going and viewed changes. Of course, make an adjustment to something that happened that's that small and maybe Teddy Roosevelt never becomes President. Wonder if Granato ever says, yeah, we should've finalized that offer of x and a lottery protected 1st for y. Should've bought in on that one. We were THAT friggin' close. AND the plan WAS adjusted about a year and a half ago. Original plan never would've seen Mittelstadt, Savoie, &/or Cozens traded. Now their own can be traded provided the return isn't anyone over the age of 25. Quote
