You know the thing for me is everything just feels the same and I want some sign or feeling - even a false hope - that something is different this year. Something to make me feel this is a serious organization (which I don't think it is). Right now I think Thompson, Tuch and Dahlin will all play well to try to get on their Olympic squads. Tuch doubly so since it's a contract year. Benson will play hard cause that's who he is and the rest is just meh. Maybe Kesselring or Doan but they are unknowns. It just feels like we will see a complete repeat of last year. Quote

LGR4GM Posted 8 hours ago Author Report Posted 8 hours ago Montreal has a good team forming. Have they vaulted past Buffalo? We'll see. Quote

I am most definitely cynical and apathetic. I don't know why everybody isn't? They did very little. They may even have gotten worse. They certainly didn't get better. Adams is still here. It's a ridiculous franchise that is breaking my heart. 4 hours ago, LGR4GM said: Montreal has a good team forming. Have they vaulted past Buffalo? We'll see. You post this after insulting me for saying Montreal has passed us and has a better GM and mocking the idea of them making the playoffs. Nice. Quote

I have some hope but when we are hinging team success on things like Benson breaking out, Kesselring offsetting Power’s timidity, so on I get worried. Quote

I wouldn’t be surprised if McDavid winds up doing that if he actually re-signs with Edmonton. Quote

They would have to at least take the Rantanen example and trade him mid season to re-tool I think McDavid signs soon, and truthfully I think he would go long term Kaprizov is a risk cause he has been hurt recently and if that happens in his contract year that could cost him tens of millions of dollars Quote

So that lessens the risk of that serious injury. What really are the chances of that injury though? I feel like we haven’t seen many of those career threateners at all during recent years. Maybe something minor pops up that costs him a million or two, but that long term ability to make a ton of money will remain. I’m not so sure it’s a serious risk. Quote
