Free agents disappearing by the minute. There's not going to be much left except a Boeser/Ehlers bidding war tomorrow. I doubt the Sabres do much of anything.

And it was a bad UFA pool to begin with. The list I looked at had Oloffson at 22 and skinner at 30. That’s a sad list

I have shifted my predictions for July 1, Byram resigned short term

Bryan Rust aquired for picks and prospect

Nick Perbix signed as depth dman

small chance Lafferty goes and Tanner Jeannot signs

Seems reasonable - like the Jeannot idea a lot if we can get rid of another 3rd/4th liner. Pernic doesn’t make as much sense as the last thing we need now is another RHD

With JBD now not qualified I think it makes lots more sense and Perbix is a big mean SOB, fits there new “style”

I love it that the Bills compete with any team in the NFL on the field, in the public arena, and financially.

Whereas the Sabres are in an entirely different league than the Vegas/Florida/Colorado types. Truly a farm club for the real teams.

NFL is unique. In the NHL, NBA and MLB you get haves and have-nots.

Rust for Rosen I can live with.

Rust for Helenuis or Byram and I have a Sabres merch  bonfire in my backyard for Canada Dy.

That’s how I feel.  I’d even “throw in” one of Kevyn’s favorites and give them a 2nd along with Rosen.
But if Helenius leaves this organization for a 33 year old, I will be done with the Sabres.
Sharks look like they’ll be fun to watch.

Translation: He'll be ready come playoff time.

One last run under the old rules!

Is he retiring or not? Because I didn’t see that word mentioned here. Until then, you’re right. Miraculous recovery come playoff time.

Surgery went better than expected and a winter in Florida cured him! Magic!

It isn't really unique, the Bills before Pegula had many saying they couldn't compete financially and until Josh they couldn't compete on the field.

The Sabres used to be able to attract and sign good players, but the sabotaged themselves tanking to be horrible and win the McDavid sweepstakes.

Its more about having ownership and management willing to do what it takes to compete and find great players. Vegas isn't great just because of their location, they are how they are because they were given a solid base to start from and are willing to bend the rules and spend to do what it takes to win. The Sabres do not have that, they won't work the rules to their advantage and do what it takes to get better. They would rather hope that they have hit on all their prospects and will just one day put it all together and be great
