There's not going to be much left except a Boeser/Ehlers bidding war tomorrow. I doubt the Sabres do much of anything. And it was a bad UFA pool to begin with. The list I looked at had Oloffson at 22 and skinner at 30. That’s a sad list 1 Quote

Pernic doesn’t make as much sense as the last thing we need now is another RHD Quote

Whereas the Sabres are in an entirely different league than the Vegas/Florida/Colorado types. Truly a farm club for the real teams. NFL is unique. In the NHL, NBA and MLB you get haves and have-nots. SabresBillsFan Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago I would hold on to Byram and you don’t want Samsonov he’s flipping terrible. Orlov’s best hockey is behind him so that’s a no go. But Granlund on the other hand is worth taking a shot on as well as Pius Suter Quote

But if Helenius leaves this organization for a 33 year old, I will be done with the Sabres. Sharks look like they’ll be fun to watch. Quote

It isn't really unique, the Bills before Pegula had many saying they couldn't compete financially and until Josh they couldn't compete on the field. The Sabres used to be able to attract and sign good players, but the sabotaged themselves tanking to be horrible and win the McDavid sweepstakes. Its more about having ownership and management willing to do what it takes to compete and find great players. Vegas isn't great just because of their location, they are how they are because they were given a solid base to start from and are willing to bend the rules and spend to do what it takes to win. The Sabres do not have that, they won't work the rules to their advantage and do what it takes to get better. They would rather hope that they have hit on all their prospects and will just one day put it all together and be great 1 Quote
