It's finally happening... the end of the Bat Curse, Cup to follow

But their answer is not enough. Jim has to release a rehabbed bat at Canalside, on the ice as close as possible to where he slayed the original pesk. It's the only way.

I am about to email these fellas and singlehandedly start us down the path of an inevitable championship.

I think it's gonna take a bit more than Jim Lorentz releasing a rehabbed bat.

 

Perhaps.... a new team name... the Buffalo Bats?  And maybe put a belfry in the Key Bank Center?

I would have believed much more in this curse if Terry Pegula had bought the team in 1976. 

Honestly, I am not sure that there is any curse worse than one Terrance Pegula. In fact, if they reshot Angels in the Outfield but made it about the Pegula lead Sabres, we would STILL miss the playoffs and the angels would demand a trade.

I just met Jim Lorentz at the Sabres BBQ at Sahlen Field today.  I wanted to tell him my story of getting a bat out of our church this past Sunday.  The bat showed up in the front pew at the end of mass.  I was able to cover him with a trash bin, slide a piece of plastic under it, and get him out.

I told Mr. Lorentz my story.  He told me that he was almost ARRESTED after his bat incident for animal cruelty!

There are definitely bats in the keycenter now, lets get some more in there.  Home ice advantage!

I was at Canalside several times in the past few months , looking for Lorentz, walking on old Aud grounds.  Didn’t see Jim but thought I saw a ghost or two.

Centering a line of Jiri Dudecek and Morris Titanic...  I mean how did we ever draft someone with the last name of Titanic...  just  sayin...

Ya, that pick hit an iceberg didn't it? I knew he'd played a couple games so I looked it up. 19 games in total with zero points. Great name though and yes, I get the joke. If he was in management here we really could rearrange some of those deck chairs. 

Jiří Dudáček was a failed gamble on Bowman's part that's for sure. I guess karma got us Mogilny later but we jumped the gun on getting those (at the time) communist players out. 

Nylander's the pick that set us back the most in the current era I'd say. Bust based on bloodlines. Imagine if we'd taken McAvoy instead? Heck, we could have drafted Tage 🙂

I agree 100% but I cant get past the "that pick hit an iceberg" lol....  I remember being a kid being so hyped for Dudacek he was the next Statsny or something like that...  and poor Morris never could come back from the back injury...  and yeah, Nylander and Grigorenko were horrid picks.

Nobody would've said boo about the Dudacek pick had it been even a 3rd or 4th rounder.  Blowing a 1st rounder on a guy that was MAYBE a 20:1 shot to ever come over to this side of the pond was ridiculous.

Heck, Moe-ray-all drafted Tretiak, but only spent a 7th rounder on him, NOT a 1st.
