A friend in high school’s dad’s name was Norm. I always greeted him with a “how’s life treating you, Mr. Peterson”. 
 

so now I say RIP, Mr Peterson.

It's been many years since I've watched an episode of Cheers but this line was the one that always stuck with me. This and Sam Malone rapping on the newscast.

The episode where he pretended he was gay so people would hire him to do interior decorating, lol 

 

And the episode where he fired people because he was good and letting them down easy, lol. 

 

There was a bar on Hertel Ave named Cheers and I'd walk in there delivering pizza and I'd always yell, "Norm" when I walked in for a laugh.

I was surprised to learn that his nephew was Jason Sudekis, the son of his sister.

Watching all these clips brought back memories of college,  this was the big show to watch on Thursday nights.

Ya, his character was legend. You felt at home watching Cheers, Boston and Buffalo and probably a thousand other towns in America had that in common back in the 80’s……beer!

The timing of the news he had died was eerie.   I had just seen John Ratzenberger (Cliff Clavin) on a show (Poker Face) and wondered what George was doing.

I also just watched White Men Can’t Jump (Woody Harrelson) the other day.
