JP51 Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago 15 hours ago, tom webster said: no, that’s not what I mean. However, whether winning a Cup helps at all is debatable. Gotcha, I do think that winning a cup or consistently contending is good for the brand and if the brand improves likely so does the value... however, winning the cup one year and then returning to dysfunction for 10 years... probably doesnt help much no... So, Sabres shock the world win the cup and then return to ignomy immediately after probably not helping... yet, the Canadiens who havent won it in forever, have this brand and this history that propels their value... so to your point winning the cup alone isnt going to re brand you.. there needs to be some consistency and history... and then obviously financials and potential revenue etc come in to significant play.. Quote

I think this is Lindy's unique value to the franchise at this point in time. He has the earned credibility. It appears that Pegula respects him (and likes him). And, from what I know and have gathered, Lindy is a standup guy. He doesn't suffer fools. He's a straight shooter. And, here's the kicker, he doesn't need the job. He could just retire and focus on fishing (and possibly his golf game? (I know that fishing is a passion for him)). I think Lindy wants to do the right things and see the right things done. And I think Terry would listen to him. 1 Quote

They definitely didn't while they were setting up the suffering:  https://web.archive.org/web/20140210135404/http://capgeek.com/archive/  $8.7M space in 2012-13 and the infamous $4M to Meszaros to get to the floor in 2014-15. But the purchase/shutdown of capfriendly eliminates the middle years between capgeek and capwages. Quote

Until that happens, yes man GMKA can say whatever he wants about how all resources are available and it's a tough job and palm trees and woe is us. If he can spend to the cap, he'd have been fired 3 years ago because they had the best winning percentage amongst the East teams vying for the Wild Card and the only money they acquired at the deadline was Greenway. They could've bulked up that entire roster to close the season. Get the confirmation from the top, in word and writing, that the goal is winning. 2 Quote

If you haven't noticed their kitchen is basically a closet. So depending on the day they either pull early to keep up with demand or the oil has cooled. Gabe's sauce is better than Bar Bill for a traditional hot wing. But Bar Bill has a more consistent/better cook. 1 Quote
