This game against the Patriots is absolutely huge.  Big opportunity to create separation from every team in the division.  The Drake Maye love in Boston seems very premature.  Would be nice if the Bills d steps up and drops a soul crushing on the New England spirit.

The D is lost

I had to look it up, but 6 D starters injured? With a 7th during the game? If that’s accurate yikes! And then Lamar to boot during the game?

I haven’t looked at any Ravens forums yet but that fan base has to be in melt down mode.

Unfortunately, Drake Maye is the real deal.

I agree. He will develop and its only a matter of time before the O-line is upgraded and they get him a couple weapons.

And boy does it pain me to type that.

Imagine wasting most of Drake Mayes QB life b.c he is stuck in a division with Josh Allen.

I hear that, but Drake Maye will never play a snap against Josh Allen.

So what kind of QB will the Jets be corrupting with their very early pick coming up in the draft?

They're going to trade a fourth-round pick for Shedeur Sanders.

Arch Manning, of course.

I still believe Justin Fields could be a decent QB. He needs the same development track Josh Allen had.

Allen was in his old bad habit of hero ball throwing deep to covered receivers. But he came back to MVP Josh and got the job done

Eh.  Getting intercepted deep on third down is kind of like a punt.

Old-man history mode:

The WWIV dial-up BBS software was popular around Buffalo in the late-80s and early-90s. For those who never used one, someone would run a (usually) DOS program on a PC with a modem and you could dial into it from your computer. DMs and Message boards, not unlike here. One person at a time, with time-limits. Later, these were networked (by dialing each other periodically and exchanging new messages) so you all didn't have to show up serially on one system. One of the largest networks of these was IceNet, which was founded by a guy named Jim Nunn in Buffalo. For awhile, I was a SysOp on Chain Reaction BBS, which I think was an IceNet node.

Thanks for the prompt to unlock some old memories. I don't specifically remember talking Bills back then, but I can't believe there weren't some boards focused on sports.

That too, just not as many people outside universities had access to it at the time. FreeNet run out of UB I think had usenet, but it's been a long time, lol. I love these old "Internet" articles: https://www.buffalo.edu/ubreporter/archive/vol26/vol26n2/1a.txt

(Thanks for indulging my ramblings, lol.

My first "social media" exposure was detroit.freenet.org in the mid 1990s.  Because it was still a local forum, we had meet ups once in a while.

It’s usually the NHL that completely botches logistical things like this but the Bills are going to “bring the storm” on October 5th?  Rain maybe but we are still  a ways off from snow.  Why would this be scheduled for late November / December.  Feels like they missed the target with this one.

it’s forecast to be a beautiful summer like day and evening.

I don’t think they ever intended the theme of this game to coincide literally with the weather.

it’s a nationally televised game where they will celebrate the team’s legacy with winter weather games. i’m sure they hope to sell a sh1t ton of those “icy” whiteout jerseys — with SNF helping them hit/exceed their targeted #s as they approach the winter months.

And it was a good play by the defense, and just a hair overthrown. If that ball was about a foot shorter, I can see Coleman winning the catch.

But why not do it on the picturesque landscape of falling snow in mid December.  If they show a bunch of snow filled highlights to coincide with the event I’m going to be even more perplexed.

for starters (and just my guess), they’d miss the window of time during which they want people to buy those $200 jerseys as gifts during the winter holidays. this is mostly a merch promo event.

i think marketing can be capricious this way. you don’t necessarily need to be on the nose.

i also allow for the possibility that the overwhelming reaction could be in line with yours — “wtf - why this now?”

I don’t think most people have this brain problem that I have where everything has to make sense.  I’ve been trying to recalibrate on the fly to better understand things.  You touched on the exact thing that gets me there. Money.  Follow the money.  This is all the league cares about, my brain just fails to recognize that in isolated circumstances.

I think a reflexive "huh? wtf?!" is justified in this situation. (Boy, especially given that it's gonna be another 80 degree beauty on Sunday.)

Seems safe to infer that the ad wizards are just trying to print cabbage.

I caught the tail end of something about this on WGR.  It also ties into some hunger charity--which one, I don't know, because I was too late.  That may (or may not) have something to do with the timing.

Also, they wanted white end zones for this but can't paint over the blue turf for reasons.  Next year, however, they will be able to paint over the natural grass.

Better, actually, if you look at the net yards numbers our actual punter is posting.

Just wondering which of the national pundits (experts?) will be the first to downgrade the Bills' season to date (yeah, but ...) by pointing out that the combined records of the Bills' first four opponents is 2- 14? Surely there's a list of the usual suspects of Bills haters.

to say nothing of the fact that the Bills beat the Dolphins and Saints in somewhat unimpressive fashion.

the Bills are 4-0. no apologies for that.

but no illusions either, eh?

Nope. No apologies nor illusions. As long as the Bills can keep winning games while sorting out their issues along the way. Like every year, it seems, its a matter of which team is healthiest and playing their best football from Thanksgiving on. Kinda feels like this is McD's modus operandi so far.

Not trying to contradict your point…more to support it. I know offense is easier than ever to score, but the Bills have scored 30+ each of the four weeks of 2025. It’s amazing that we can say we are less than impressed with that output. What a time to be alive as a Bills fan.  😀
