shrader Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 Other than Phillips and Poyer, how many of these guys weren’t with the Bills during training camp? Quote

If the report is correct, at least Jones as well. And, hadn't seen Franklin on the roster before, but he might've been. The rest of them look like they were Bills earlier this summer. EDIT: Franklin was waived by Denver. Edited August 27 by Taro T 1 Quote
Eleven Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 I'm taking the 17th spot and I'm giving it to @nobody so he can be an invisible defensive back. 2 Quote

That Aud Smell Posted September 2 Report Posted September 2 Tough news about DeWayne Carter (sp? (out for the season with a torn Achilles)), but, from what I gather, he was sliding down the depth chart before suffering the injury (which also stinks (he flashed early in his rookie year)). Quote

JustOneParade Posted September 2 Report Posted September 2 I think its a good move. If (WR) injuries happen later in the year you've got a guy to plug in with 4 years experience working with Josh. Quote

I would imagine that he fully expects to be on the active roster once he's good to go. My guess is that Shavers (unless he's a special teamer?) would need to be waived (and then likely re-signed to the p squad). 17 hours ago, JustOneParade said: I think its a good move. He can be elevated from the PS something like 3 times before he'd have to be elevated to the 53 to play again. There is no need to be risking losing Shavers to another team in need of WRs anytime soon. Nobody, at least nobody Big Play Gabe would be interested in playing for as he's a vet and can decide where to play, was interested in him. Not worried about him getting poached from the PS. Quote

I always forget about this new rule. So confusing. (And it's sometimes not a hard and fast 3 times or something? Like there are different kinds of elevations?) 28 minutes ago, Taro T said: Nobody, at least nobody Big Play Gabe would be interested in playing for as he's a vet and can decide where to play, was interested in him. He visited with the Steelers before signing with the Bills. Quote

Interesting. With Samuel, I've heard over and over that the cap consequences would be prohibitive. I could see Moore being odd man out. Also, is Shavers playing on teams? That changes everything if so. Quote

And the Samuel cap consequences are IIRC pretty much that they get no savings at all by cutting him but they don't take much of an additional hit for doing so. And with Samuel seemingly never fully healthy, could see him being the odd man out. 1 Quote

He was a gunner for us in his limited appearances last season so it makes sense that he will be tasked with special teams again. 1 1 Quote
Taro T Posted September 3 Report Posted September 3 (edited) And back to Gabe Davis. Was thinking the reason we hadn't heard of any cuts to add him was because Carter had been put on IR and somebody elevated. Well, Carter is on the injury report, so for some reason he hasn't been IR'd yet. And apparently, per Sal, nobody needs to come off of the PS to make room for Gabe due to his status. EDIT - see subsequent post, Poyer needed to get cut from the PS to make room for Gabe but he'll be re-signed once Gabe gets that PS/injured categorization. Apologies for missing that detail.
