I'm a dinosaur....still have a land line at my house.

Not sure how long we will have that option....

Still love your landline? Phone service providers are getting closer to phasing it out

Has anyone tried putting their phone is rice?  Maybe that’ll help.

Another thing I guess we can't do anymore....

Apple warns: Don't put your wet iPhone in rice.

My cell signal has gone out maybe twice in 25 years being here in Halifax.

That said, the signal is ***** about 94.7% of the time.

Is the string between the two tin cans taut? The key to a good connection is minimizing the slack.

We still have a land line because our Provider sold it to us and included a bigger discount on other services.  It was cheaper to get the land line than not to get it.  We don't use but it is connected and works as a back up in emergency.

I also have two portable digital TV antennas ($20 cheapo's from Amazon) so we can pick up the local over the air TV channels without internet or cable service.

I remember when Mother caught me calling Mrs. McPherson the local Tele-phone operator. She had such a sexy, husky voice. Smoked a cigar some boys said. I would ask for Doc Parker's line. Now I knew damn well it was Murray Hill 172. Still... I have the old phone to this day. And no Mother I did not go blind.
