We lack the killer instinct… Give up too many late goals… lose to many games late… Can’t teach it… We need 23 guys with Benson’s drive and determination…

Hate to bring this up again guys but tomorrow is US Thanksgiving and the Sabres aren't in a playoff spot. According to the majestic Sportscentre odds, it generally means they won't make it to the dance this season. I know some on here don't believe in that stat, but only 3 teams (I believe it is only 3) have defied those odds. I believe this years Sabres will not buck that trend.

Ok.  But I think they might.  I think I’ll keep watching to see what’s up in January.  Then I’ll keep watching to the end.

Will they?

I don't believe so. But I've been wrong before, so who know.

Yup. I’m tired of hearing “eventually they are going to win”. We’ve been saying that too long. Start winning games like this and figure out a way to be clutch. Zero excuse for tonight.

They played well tonight.  They will start winning the close ones.

They need a seasoned starting goalie and a better defense for that to happen. Not to mention a real head coach and GM. In other words....I don't see anything getting better anytime soon.

Ok here's a plan: dose-up on plenty of tryptophan tomorrow...

I got a connection ....

axe GIF

,,,,and set your alarm for Saturday for more fun with 7 Deference-mens and our need for 3 goalies.

Same Sabre Space time ... TNT/MAX game....

I'm not disappointed in a tie tonight. They're a veteran team on a hot-streak. I think we played them about even with a bias toward the Sabres being the better team. We get bone-headed play from our young guys at the worst times. If they can clear up some of that a game like tonight would have been an easy win.

Power once again with a weak defensive play. He should have rushed Strome before he edged too far toward the net. Boo.

Cozens was out of gas, as they all were.  They used it all trying to score.  Hence a 2 on 1 and Levi blew it.  Power correctly took away the pass.  Levi incorrectly did not play the shooter and was out of position and late.   A rookie in the NHL.

Wrong about Power. Watch the reply. He actually overcommitted towards Strome right before he was about to shoot, leaving Milano open, and Levi was correctly taking him into account.

Cozens just awful. Terrible shot selection. Then slow as hell and Levi plays the pass instead of the shot. Game over. Pathetic.

I'm pissed. This team choked that game away. I'm logging off. That was ***** garbage.

Wrong about Levi. Power was not in position to play the pass

They owned the OT… We were outplayed… and out coached… Our skaters were exhausted…

I thought the OT was close but we didn’t shoot enough.  We don’t shoot enough period.

I thought we outplayed them for most of the game too.  Levi was good and Levi was bad. He needs to play more - in Rochester.  It will help him immensely.

I don’t know if they outcoached us either.  They out vetted us.  There are still a lot of old Cup winners there and they pulled it out.

8 wins, 11 losses for a team that wasn’t even just interested in the playoffs this year, but the Cup. The “in the playoffs by thanksgiving” thing illustrates the difficulties and unlikelihood of turning it around in season, but in the end it’s an arbitrary cut off point - there’s plenty of mathematical opportunity and runway to get it done.

they’ll need to pick up that 8 wins in 19 tries pace very soon to do it, though, regardless of the points the league doles out for 2 of those losses.

If the Sabres can play this type of road game at home, they’d have something and win a lot more.

As others have said, they seem to pack it in with 1 goal leads and don’t try to put the game away.  They get tied late or lose games late way too often.

Rough ending.  I like Levi but was hoping he’d be a savior this season.   Nope, he’s not a savior yet.

I’m so looking forward to people not making excuses for this team. They played great in the first, ok in the second, and tried to protect a one goal lead in the third.

If they don’t turn the corner very soon, kiss the playoffs good bye.

While arbitrary, again, only 3 teams have ever defied those odds. As this team has gone thus far, no way they will be the 4th team.
