Others have said some of this but here goes:

-12 forwards. Roll 4 lines. Fill in/call up who you need to in order to make that work.

-As far as play this year, UPL has been generally the best, Comrie very close 2nd.  I'd get Levi a stint in Roch and go UPL/Comrie 60/40 percent from now on and the immediate future.

-IF Cozens is hurt in a way it is impacting his game, sit him for a few games. He's making mistakes to hurt you AND not producing as much as last year. Get him right.

-Dahlin is starting to play better after an up-and-down start, but can we not put him out there for close to 28 minutes in a game?

-This team is better off right now if Okposo and Krebs miss some games.

Can't see riding UPL & Comrie being good enough to get them where they need to be.  Keeping Levi in the mix might not get them there as well, but if he can get beyond giving up the late goal, it very well could be good enough.

Expect that Cozens is hurt and it's impacting his game.  But don't see anyone else being able to step up to fill in his role better than he currently is with Thompson on the shelf.

Especially with playing 7 D, they have to find a way to not have to play Dahlin 28 minutes - agree with that.

And yes, agree with your 1st and last points.

BS.

UPL looked GREAT against Chicago.  Um, yeah, THAT Chicago.  How did he look against the Phlyers?  How'd he look against the Pens, Carolina?

Levi gets teams like the Rags, TO, Boston, and the Caps on an 8-1-1 run.  Yeah, he absolutely needs to find a way to stop giving up a goal in the last 2 minutes.  Of course, if the Sabres could find a way to actually play in their own zone in the last 2 minutes, it would help him to pull that off.

I am coming around to your line of thinking. Levi may get sent down. But Levi is also not hurting the Sabres. The Sabres are hurting all goalies by continuing to give up a ton of high danger shots to opponents. The Sabres are not giving up the same GA at this point in the season compared to last year, but they’re still not taking good care of their goalies.

Im not saying 2023-24 is another development year, but Buffalo needs to decide where it is best to develop Levi (Buff or Roc) and soon.  Giving each goalie a week between starts isn’t doing any of them any favors.
