Zetterlund is better than Rousek. Or at least he’s bigger and faster and proven much more at the same age.

That said, if those are the 2 best pieces, Devils made out like bandits

And that’s exactly why I said I hope devils give up a lot.  Because I don’t want to be mad thinking Adams should’ve pulled the trigger.

I’m watching that game on Sportsnet.

Friedman says it is an injury that is holding this up. He says someone is banged up enough that they are still negotiating. There is someone else going with Meier as well.

Scott Harrington is the other player.

Something tells me Meier played matchmaker with the Devils because of his Swiss friends being there.

I’m sorry, I get all the arguments not to go all in for Meier, but if the return on this trade is what is being reported, this is, in my opinion, a big miss. They are not taking advantage of their unique cap position which will lessen as the cap stops being artificially depressed.
This team is positioned to be a Cup contender as soon as next year and instead they are putting priority on acquiring more prospects who might be able to help in two or three years.

Tom, question for ya.

Seeing as this young crop of Sabres roster is just now entering the infancy of its compete stage, meaning playoff hunt and season sustainability with growth, what's the view 3 years out, when the core is seasoned and McDavids contract will be up?

Maybe , just maybe, Adams doesn’t want to give up his next 2 first round picks for a winger.  Maybe he sees a bigger position of need ?
