You captured what makes Power such an elite prospect. There's an intelligence and positioning adroitness that can't be taught. As a youngster he plays like he is a veteran. His teammate, Hughes, has much more offensive flash to his game. But as an NHL player Power is going to be a player who anchors the blueline. The Sabres/GM made the right decision to select him.

Not really. Michigan was a lot like the Leafs. A lot of big names but Pearson never instilled a defensive system. In a one and done tournament, defensive teams that can lock it down usually fare better.

I mean it went to OT, one bounce either way could end it and 3 Michigan  forwards over skate the puck at their own blue line and the game is over seconds later.

Beniers and Johnson were basically invisible in 3rd and OT. 

Brisson had one chance. They couldn't get any sustained offense going. 

Denver was hard to play against
