I want this guy to show he’s ready for opening night on the NHL roster. Another season away from a team that will get caved in on most nights is not a bad thing. I’d rather have him in Rochester. dudacek
Anyone want to talk about what's happening on the ice? Day one line combos: Skinner Cozens Olofsson Bjork Mittelstadt Thompson Caggiula Girgensons Okposo Asplund Ruotsalainen Hinostroza

I wanted to see Asplund with Ruotsalainen and Skinner with Cozens. Hoping to see some chemistry with those pairs. I also wonder if Olofsson might be a fit with Asplund and Ruotsalainen. I think he may do better away from Skinner. I think Skinner might need another guy on the line digging behind the net or against the boards for loose pucks. Skinner's gotta play like he has linemates he trusts or line 1 is ineffective. Mitts and Tage need another level of development shown or that line isn't effective The 3rd line might be the most stable on a game to game basis, but won't put many pucks in the net. Hopefully Okposo can keep up with the workload because I suspect this line will see alot of the opponents top line. That 4th line is hope and prayer. Hope Asplund and Roots really are NHL players. If they are they may surprise other 4th lines.
LabattBlue
I’m not saying he will be buried on the 4th line all season, but be prepared for R2 to bolt back to Europe in 22-23, if he ends up with 8-10 min of ice time per night, along with no PP time. My preferred mix in terms of chemistry, in no particular order: Skinner Ruotsalainen Hinostroza Bjork Cozens Olofsson Asplund Mittelstadt Thompson Caggiula Girgensons Okposo Could flip Bjork and Hino, but what I like is each line has some speed, some responsibility and some finish (except the fourth), and they are all balanced. Probably the best thing there is no Eakin 😁 Edited September 24, 2021 by dudacek

I think they realize they have a talent there. I was running the PP basically in the prospect game. He needs someone to feed him the puck with that shot he has

LabattBlue
If DG decides to roll a “checking line” of ???-Girgs-KO it will be a mistake. There is just no offense to go hand in hand with the TOI they will receive.

I think he needs some skill guys that will really dig out pucks against the boards and behind the net. He's a great skater and can score (at least he used to be able to score 😏). I like the idea of Skinner with Cozens and maybe Bjork (on the right side). Why do you think he would be a match with Ruotsalainen and Hinostroza? Trettioåtta
For this season to not be ugly, we need: Cozens to have taken a big step up in the offseason Skinner to be close to his old pre-Kruger self Bjork to have a breakout season Thompson to have a breakout season Mitts to play to his draft-day expectations Dahlin to play to his draft-day expectations UPL to have taken a big step up in the offseason Anderson to have a chip on his shoulder and want to retire on a high I don't like our odds

They were really excellent together for awhile. Hard to play against Bad goaltending will hamper some of the players and take away that safety net they need to get going. Why do you think he would be a match with Ruotsalainen and Hinostroza? I think Skinner's greatest strength and his greatest weakness is his tendency to freelance. He can be a hard guy to build chemistry with because he's not predictable and he doesn't play give and go hockey. I think Cozens will get frustrated playing with him. R2 seems to me to be much more unflappable and structured in his game, much more likely to do the right thing regardless of what Jeff is up to and provide a stable platform that Jeff can bounce off. Also, his shot and Jeff's ability to rebound would seem to combine together offensively better than a Cozens or Mitts looking to set Jeff up to snipe only to find he's not where they expected him to be. I'm not as familiar with Hinostoza's game, but I do expect him to be pretty responsible defensively and use his speed to force the kind of turnovers Jeff can feast off of, while meshing well with R2's stability and providing more offence than guys like Lazar and Sheahan.
