Mustache of God
Bruce Garrioch ✔@SunGarrioch #Sens are closing in on a deal for Lehner with the Sabres. Expect a No. 1 pick to be part of the trade and perhaps David Legwand. I really hope we're not giving up a 1st rounder for a goalie...in GMTM we trust.. Lanny
There has to be someone else coming with them, Legwand is a cap dump. Edited June 26, 2015 by Lanny
TrueBlueGED
If we give up a #1 for Lehner and Legwand I'll be sad.

Mustache of God
I don't understand the Legwand part at all. Last thing this team needs is a "past their prime" center. Perhaps Murray would somehow flip him over to the Avs for O'reilly? Not sure how that sweetens the pot but I don't see room for him on the Sabres. This is a major overpayment. Murray doing business w/ Murray. Must be effecting his ability to think straight. I'm about to puke.

I really hope we're not giving up a 1st rounder for a goalie...in GMTM we trust.. #21 for a backup goalie and a 34-year-old center who put up Hodgson-esque numbers last year and is due to make $3.5MM this year? That can't be right. If the Sabres are taking Legwand, Ottawa needs to be sweetening the pot. Maybe it's #21 and #31 for #18 (Ottawa's #1), Lehner and Legwand? This would be a horrible trade if it becomes true. A goalie who won 8 of 24 starts for a playoff team and basically freeing up cap space for Ottawa for the #21 pick in the draft would be a horrible waste of a valuable asset. I wouldn't give anything more than a 3rd round pick and even then I have doubts.
That Aud Smell
As reported, this trade does not make sense. I also sort of hate that he's dealing with OTT.

That Aud Smell
The idea of Buffalo moving UP as part of that deal makes sense, as it was reported GM TM wanted to get back into the top 20. *And* it is quite possible that he knows OTT values the same guy he does, and therefore he needs OTT's spot in order to get him. sabres1970
No way Legwand would even play, that's just a buyout move to help out his buddies in OTT.

Hell, can we trade the Right to Matt Ellis as well.

Claude_Verret
My sens source knows nothing of the reported Lehner deal, but then again he's on the driving range right now too. Says he'd be surprised if they trade in division given what happened with Bishop.
