thesportsbuff
The Buffalo News reports that Rick Martin has passed away. Rick Martin, one-third of the most fabled line in Buffalo Sabres history, died today of a heart attack. He was 59. Martin reportedly had a heart attack while driving in Clarence, a law enforcement officer said on the condition of anonymity. Sad, sad news. Robviously
OMG... The time of that is just eerie.... Horrible news. Rest in peace, Rick. Might as well make the obvious point: How much more meaningful does Pegula's introduction feel right now? Geez.

kishoph
This is a big loss to the organization just when things are looking up and we were hoping to see more involvement from the alumni. Rest in Peace RICK MARTIN, this fan will always remember you as one of the best to ever put on a Sabres uniform.

As Lee Coppola coined - Martin from Robert and Perreault....that's a French Connection. :( Rest in Peace. And thoughts and prayers to all of Rick's friends and family throughout WNY, the Sabres community, and elsewhere.

PASabreFan
Saw the subject line. Hoped beyond hope it was some kind of joke. Moments of silence are fine and that's what they'll rightly have. This guy deserves a moment of cheering.
