  1. When I truly didn't even care what happened, BEFORE LAST SEASON, was my low. I understand the whole concept of tanking, and last season was a necessary evil for the last 8 seasons of purgatory. Last season was just what had to happen... The real pain, in hindsight, came before, during the endless spiral since 7/1/2007. So many ghosts have been exercised though... With that said, our team gooning it up against Tampa due to a b*tch play was one of the higher points!
  2. I have a VW sportwagen tdi. Great car. Great mileage. Great cargo capacity for weekend trips to stores or vacation luggage
  3. That was great. Those guys were crazy for pulling that stunt.
  4. Win now, win often. 82 games till Game 1. LETS GO BUFF-A-LO!!!
  5. Family/Work/School. Heck, I barely have time to watch the games, let alone post and read every thread.
  6. Thanks for all the kind words all. Now, if I'm blocked or warned, I'm going to have to throw Dimitri Khalinin's loafers! I'll start taking my beer orders later...
  7. As others have said, Lindy Ruff is an excellent coach, but his time had come here. All things being the same, I'd love to rewrite history and have Regier fired first, Murray brought in, and have Murray decide Lindy's fate. However, I'm satisfied with exercising some demons by finally signing Nolan to the long term contract he earned almost 20 years ago. Now, with that being said, I'll never root for the Stars, but it would be nice for Lindy to advance his team and demonstrate some of that playoff magic he used to display here.
  8. I had forgotten that Ron Rolston was the coach, and that he was fired this year!
  9. PC LOAD LETTER? WTF does that mean?
  10. My brother sent me a txt that eherhoff is a healthy scratch. Rumors rumors, so someone with better internet access than me can look it up. I'm at work with iphone only
  11. Ted Nolan vs. Lindy Ruff. Almost 30 years of Sabres history there.
  12. This happens all the time in the real world. "Here's a termination letter dated for tomorrow, which will be sent to HR tomorrow. Here's a resignation letter dated tomorrow. Sign the resignation letter now or I send the termination letter to HR."
  13. My speculative take? Nolan was upset because he has been out of the loop with the Olympic break and you know, coaching his team. Plus, he's the coach; he's not upper management. LaFontaine on the other hand was brought to this team to bring stability during the transition period. That transition period came to a crashing halt when he hired the best possible candidate in Tim Murray for GM. I think that he sniffed at resigning last week or sometime over the Olympics and was asked to "go away" till after the trade deadline when they would have allowed for an amicable departure. The stark reality of the trade deadline either caused LaFontaine to quit immediately OR someone got wind and posed on Twitter, which caused this uproar over the past 24 hours. In the end, Murray got value for Miller and Ott and is not done. Ted Black is still in charge of day-to-day operations. Pegula is still the active Sabres fan owner. I think the lesson learned here is that the Sabres PR department was forced to react away from the script and they failed. LaFontaine will have to answer the call eventually. I can't wait to hear what he has to say. Moving forward, we will have to see if trades are affected or what Nolan does with his supposed contract offer. Time will tell.
  14. Well let's see if there are any hardball questions asked.
