I partly agree with this. Like I said, I saw some value in Sekera, didn't hate it. Maybe the best way way to phrase my argument is: I didn't think that Sekera was *so good* as to want to rebuild around him, especially with the prospect depth at D. He seemed like a career 3-4 defenseman. So move him, collect the pick for Compher (whom even Devine said was expected to be late 1st round) and a patchwork defender in McBain (who, depending on the coach, is probably a career 4-5 defensemen). I think Sekera was worth the equivalent of a late 1st and serviceable defenseman. And I think that trade startsto look a little lopsided for us now that Compher looks like a point-getting wrecking ball freshman in the B1G. I'm glad Sekera's playing well in Carolina, but is he a top pair defensemen on a team that has other defensemen? (Faulk, Hainsey, Liles, Murphy, Harrison, and Bellemore fill out CAR's back end.)

Generally when a prosecutor figures this out, the case is withdrawn or dismissed, and they stop wasting the taxpayers' time and money.

I'll never defend Frasier, but concisely, what's the completely absurd part? In my experience, if you play in the dirty areas, it gets dirty. And that intensity only ramps up at the crucial end of a close game. To stand in the crease with your arms up looking for a call when your team's trying to get back on sides with less than a minute left in a one goal game looks pretty ###### silly.

TM's been talking a good player evaluation and drafting game, and saying the right things when it comes to maximizing return for UFAs. This keeps me optimistic, because these are important concepts for our historical franchise turnaround. I also agree. I think Nolan has the team working harder than they've been working before. But with this roster, that's the difference between a 5-3 loss because of no effort and a 2-1 loss because of no talent.

It wasn't for a lack of effort, trust me. I just don't get blackout drunk that often. I have a graduate degree from Playboy's #1 party school, which has bestowed upon me a super-human tolerance. Especially for beer. So I really can't drink enough beer by 2AM to cause memory loss. It's a blessing and a curse. Sometimes, if I don't eat dinner and I start drinking at like 4pm, I'll be shitfaced by bar time. We used to do that in Madison. Pound beers from about 4 until 7pm at happy hour, then go to the Badger hockey game until 9:30, then pub crawl down State St, ending up at the Essen Haus around 11pm, then pound 2 liter glass boots of Spaten Optimator and dance to live polka music for three hours. That would usually do it, but I'd still remember where I was.
