  1. What term are you thinking would be acceptable? Good call on July 1, I also agree that’s the timeframe.
  2. I deleted my post because it didn’t honor the spirit of the question. To more appropriately answer your inquiry, I think you nailed it with the exception of JJ. Sabres fans have seen more from Quinn than Peterka. But I also think Tage tops them both. It is also pretty cool that fans identify with the coach and I agree with you on that.
  3. This is probably an off-season type of thread, but, Tage is having another good night. It got me to thinking about what it would take to keep him here for the foreseeable future. He was recently featured in this Sabres production and seemed genuine that he wants to be here and be a leader: Capfriendly states he is signed for one more year at 1.4m and then an RFA one more time. https://www.capfriendly.com/players/tage-thompson At the time of this contract signing, it was widely considered a low risk, high upside signing for a guy who some wanted in the AHL. Fast forward to today, and he’s the Sabres first line center and leads the team in scoring. He’s outplayed his current contract to the point that he cannot be asked to take a hometown discount. He’s age appropriate for the Sabres new core, and their top line would be lost without him. Just imagine if Casey or Krebs had to anchor the first line…yikes. So what gets it done? Would 6m X 5 years be enough? That would take him to age 30 and eligible for one more big contract. But is that enough to buy out his prime years? Would he rather sign shorter term and bet on himself? He’s in the same situation that Reinhart was in (one year from UFA at current contract conclusion). Would he prefer arbitration one time and UFA for max $$? What is it going to take to buy out his prime years? Are you ready to make a long term commitment after 60 games at the center position? I am. I’m asking him to take 6m X 5/6 years. Would you? Would he?
  4. Aside from secondary market fees, you also have far less season ticket holders selling than most previous years. So less plentiful options. I found that the box office was cheaper than secondary market for VGK game, and I hounded the market for 48 hours prior to puck drop.
  5. I just bought a box office ticket for Vegas game. There are no TicketMonster fees if you purchase at the box office. There also aren’t any paper tickets. They text you a link to a QR code and you scan your phone for entry.
  6. Barring injuries, the Amerks are going to be loaded.
  7. I’m very interested to see if the Sabres view both Krebs & Sam as exclusively NHL guys or not. If they come back to Roch for the playoffs, that team can win the Calder Cup.
  8. As an aside, I don’t believe any team was taking the night off against Buffalo in March 2022. There’s no doubt that both Vegas & Toronto did NOT take the Sabres lightly (given the weight/circumstances surrounding those games). While the Wild started their backup, he’s 12-3 this year. And Calgary ran their starting goalie out there.
  9. https://www.uscho.com/2022/03/19/minnesota-states-ot-goal-waved-off-after-ccha-trophy-presented-game-against-bemidji-state-to-resume/ Did y’all see this? After the trophy presentation and after the arena emptied out (over an hour after the GWG), the teams got called back! Also, Geneseo is in the D3 Frozen Four (again).
  10. If Johan has a market, could it mean Zemgus could have a market? I know Zemgus is well thought of in the room, but they’ve each had about the same season in 2022. Z’s salary is higher, and comes with an extra year.
  11. Yes it is. But American fans have somehow adopted assistant. And I hate it.
  12. I like how the PA announcer referred to KO as “alternate captain.” I hear people say assistant captain and I shudder. #getoffmylawn
  13. Right, but what I was getting at was that I didn’t know the details. Thank you @kas23
  14. I don’t recall the Peterson details, but I’m still feeling that burn. I wouldn’t take any chances and would bring him in now. The ECHL is an option too. Plus UPL gets an injury a year, so that opens a door.
  15. I’ve never heard of Stamkos having maturity issues.
  16. He responded on Vogel’s thread, “Whoops I didn’t even notice. My wife put it together frantically in 30 minutes after I got out of work and had to drive an hour to the stadium.” But in subsequent posts, he’s acting like he’s playing 4D chess.
  17. It’ll suck in four years, but he’s still playing at a 1C level. Better than a point per game.
  18. Actual cheeks in seats are probably like 12,500. But they’ll announce something like 15k
  19. Anyone have an extra to sell? Happy to pay your cost v ticketmonster resale.
  20. So the Coyotes? I can’t fathom another team that will hover around the cap floor for the next four continuous seasons. But selling 5k seats a night, I guess it might fit the bill in terms of cash outlay versus cap cost.
