  1. This is classy af Good on you, Sabres.
  2. Vegas has noticed your point. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/11/for-upcoming-postseason-game-at-bills-dolphins-are-biggest-wild-card-underdog-ever/
  3. I’m not 100%, but I think the entry level contract and its limitation comes into play. So it isn’t as much of a highest bidder kind of thing. Either way, I don’t begrudge Portillo for exercising his right to free agency. It isn’t great for Buffalo, but it is what it is.
  4. Plus it makes more sense, given the medical event happened during the Cinci game.
  5. That’s a bummer for the Amerks. But I imagine he’s thrilled.
  6. Well they had to send UPL down on paper because he was an “emergency recall.” But Meatballs said on the radio today that UPL is starting tonight.
  7. I’m not passionate about the idea, but that’s 11th and 12th of twelve forwards last night. Since thanksgiving (so the last 17 games), JJ has seven points and Quinn has eight points.
  8. Nine min? Yikes. Do you send down one of these waiver exempt players for space for Comrie? Say JJP for a week on the farm, then Quinn for a week on the farm. That buys a couple of weeks to figure out what to do with UPL & react to any injuries. Krebs or Mitts have each had a good week and slot into their role.
  9. Actually Botts deserves the credit for Tage. Armstrong was asked why Tage was the prospect sent out (instead of Kyrou or Thomas) and he replied that, “Buffalo wanted Thompson.” It was during his press conference.
  10. The Panthers are 18-18-4, so I think their pace referenced above might be off.
  11. Shane Wright got sent back to Juniors
  12. But that’s what waivers are for. There’s literally no reason for Vinny to terminate his contract.
  13. No chance of this. Sheahan was on a two way contract, meaning he got paid a fraction of his NHL salary to play in ROC. Vinny is on a one way deal, so he gets paid 1.7M regardless of where he plays.
  14. Yes the Amerks sucked tonight. The Sens opted to play five guys in the box once they went up 3-1 after two periods. It was effective. Rochester also took some silly penalties all night. Onto Friday…
  15. We’ve gone from, “Is Tage even an NHL’er to is Tage a league MVP?” in 1.5 seasons. The meteoric rise is incomprehensible. The answer to the Q, yes he is top ten in the league, and yes he is top five in the league. Especially if you consider the future of the player…he’s top five today and shows all signs of being the “guy” going forward. And he’s signed for below market value for seven years beginning next year. Sweet!
  16. While I can kind of see where you’re coming from, no one is saying that. What we are reacting to is this podcast isn’t the time, the place, or the forum for that commentary.
  17. I don’t know if this is helpful to your scenario, but they’re uploaded to Spotify each time. It is how I find their episodes.
  18. I’m very disappointed to hear this. If i can glean a host’s (or guest’s) political leanings on a hockey podcast, they’re doing it wrong. I will boycott JR episodes forever. This isn’t the first time he’s complained politically on the podcast. The words Biden or “wokeness” don’t belong on a Sabres-centric hockey pod and I’ve previously heard both. If Petey and Rivet didn’t challenge these comments, then it’s pretty irresponsible. It’s just not the forum for that talk. I’m really disappointed to hear this because I’m a regular listener and I would also feel compelled to react the same way as you. What a bummer.
  19. Comrie could have had the fourth one, but now 4-1 baby Sens
  20. Hard to blame Comrie on any of the three. He got a poor lateral push off the post for the second goal (in which the cross-ice pass wasn’t defended), but no one was stopping the first goal and only luck would have stopped the third goal. I hope the offense shows up soon.
  21. Quiet first. 0-0 after one period. Comrie with nine saves, and two appeared high danger. It’s super quiet in the arena. Worst jersey of the night goes to Dea so far. Best jersey so far was Gage (with Noronen honorable mention).
  22. Comrie gets the start. Miersch out of the lineup due to the birth of a baby.
  23. I keep hearing on this board that we need more third or fourth line players who are glue guys and hard to play against. So this is good?
  24. Why would the Wild do this?
