Rasmus Dahlin is replacing Tage Thompson in the All Star Game

I’ve seen that movie and it was 🔥

Who is he playing with? That team is shockingly thin on the forward group. He’s second on the team in points, but his scoring touch has definitely taken a hit. I’m not advocating specifically for Kane, but take him away from Domi/Dickinson and plop him with Cozens or Tage and I bet that looks a little different.

I understand your gripe. I would be upset too. I’m sure their excitement of homeownership is through the roof and your job satisfaction gets you by. Sounds like a great time to me. Good luck with everything.

I started a thread that asked why do the Sabres stink at home, and was advised by some that they don’t. 🤷♂️ So this ought to be interesting.

I wasn’t trying to trade Mitts. I was trying to acquire depth. And I mentioned something fair for a UFA at the deadline would be a second rounder (I believe we have three) and a B-level prospect. Detroit will be a seller at the deadline. I think it is unrealistic to assume we don’t have an injury to our top nine forwards the rest of the way. Also, Bertuzzi scored 30 last year and he plays with an edge.
-
The hockey player was his uncle, but point taken. A strong room can overcome this type of stuff. If he becomes a problem, then put him in the press box and he can UFA his way elsewhere. I want talent for a playoff run. Gimme the nasty for 30 games.
-
He’s had two 20 goal seasons and one 30 goal season, so he can take Mitts spot for me. And he’s good insurance for a top six injury.

Does anyone live in the Detroit region or follow the Red Wings a bit? I am wondering about asking for Tyler Bertuzzi as a UFA rental? He was a belligerent 30 goal scorer last year. This year, diddly poo. How about one of our three second rounders and a B-level prospect for some heavy Bert into our lineup for a playoff run? Gimme the Granato magic on this guy and it might help the Sabres a lot for the rest of this year.

I’ll admit that I haven’t watched the Nucks at all. So it’s all recency bias for me. Any idea why it all fell apart this year? Demko’s career sv% is .909 in 145 starts.

Total sidebar—It is kind of funny to me that goalies can earn points, but aren’t scored for +/- Andy and Comrie both have an assist this year but they’re considered even.

If UPL hadn’t gone 12-4 in his last 16 games and was still in ROC, I would have thought this could have made a lot of sense. It is a nice bridge timeline to Levi (it would give Devon one year in ROC, one year as an NHL 1B, and hopefully year three as 1A). But I just don’t see the Sabres putting UPL back in ROC. So the fit isn’t perfect and I would have to pass.

Timo Meier rumour - Sabres contact Sharks
Porous Five Hole replied to Sabres73's topic in The Aud Club
https://sanjosehockeynow.com/san-jose-sharks-timo-meier-trade-return/ The ask appears to be: A 1st-rounder, and then one of: 1) a Grade-A prospect, or 2) two Grade-B prospects, or 3)one good prospect & a young established NHL player. So up to three pieces. And then the ask on a new contract “starts with at least a nine.” -
Canucks trade C Bo Horvat to the Isles
Porous Five Hole replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
If the Isles sign Horvat long term, I think this is a great trade for them. If it’s a rental, it would be a questionable decision. Raty's ceiling is probably being another Horvat at best. But his floor is zero. Beauvillier is a 30 point JAG…and that was most of Horvat’s cap hit. Nice win for the Islanders pending an extension. -
Practice Notes 1/30; Thompson, Cozens and Samuelsson Day To Day

Krebs to line one, Aspy to line four. Would love to see Krebs with some talent around him and he won’t be out-hustled playing D. -
Even worse, he’s a realtor 😂

So you’re out on Gabe for sure?

Until someone gets hurt and you’re going to wish you had some veteran depth that doesn’t disrupt the future.

Sabres Trade Deadline 2023 Discussion
Porous Five Hole replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I’ve been an advocate of letting the kids play up a role and leaving the top six alone for the stretch run. But the Cozens injury made me realize how vulnerable the Sabres are to a long term injury. With all the cap space available, I’m ready to “disrupt” the chemistry with a shot at a pending UFA forward acquisition for the stretch run. Assuming the cost this year is the same as last year at the deadline, Claude Giroux cost Owen Tippett, a first-round pick 2024 or 2025, and a third-round pick. This is the equivalent to Jost, a first rounder in two or three years, and a third round pick. It may cost more for Pat Kane (UFA) or Brock Boeser (who has term remaining) than the Giroux cost, but it should be close and I’m firmly in the camp that it’s time. A move like this isn’t cost prohibitive to the rebuild, and no one has to eat salary for us (potentially reducing cost to acquire). I think Buffalo should be a buyer and not a passenger at the deadline. While goaltending isn’t a strength on this roster, I don’t think anyone would be excited about playing the Sabres in a playoff series (this team can score). And what if UPL or any tender got hot?? Theres room on this roster and on the cap to acquire. And if it pushes Peterka to the third line to be a problem for an opponent, well then even better. -
