Will the Sabres drop STH prices in 23-24?

The Canes are averaging 18,493 in home attendance so far this season. That’s pretty good. I think the area has noticed that they’re good. https://www.hockeydb.com/nhl-attendance/att_graph_season.php?lid=NHL1927&sid=2023 -
Are the Sabres out of the running for the playoffs?
Porous Five Hole replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
For the road team, sure. But the Sabres nailed RJ night and Miller night. -

He signed a two year deal in July. So we’ve got him for this season and next season. -
Official Marty Walsh named NHLPA Executive Director

Nah, Cassidy called him out during a press conference for not performing to expectation. He burned all his B’s jerseys that day. -
I guess I’m in the minority, but I have room for Kane on the second line with Cozens and Quinn. Kane also might be a huge boost to PP2. Preface the rest with saying this is so unlikely to happen for all of the reasons mentioned. But I don’t hate it if the cost was very low. Everybody shuffles down one spot in the lineup. VO & Peterka might be a great wing combo. I’m not NOT making a trade because a third line is playing alright together. I also worry about an injury to our top six. Kane would be the depth/insurance that I’m looking for. I’m listening to anyone who has a top six UFA rental that will help get this team to the playoffs. Where I lose interest is the cost to acquire. Anything other than a mid round pick & a B-level prospect or I pass. And the Hawks aren’t embarrassing a HOFer for a junk return like that.

Cozens Contract Extension Announced, 7 years 7.1 Million AAV
Porous Five Hole replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
ROR had his warts, but he was a legitimate first or second line center in his prime. i don’t know how to adjust ROR’s stats in his dead puck era to compare, but I bet they would be close (ROR went 17-38 = 55 pts in year three). In his first year in Buffalo (year four of his career), he went 21-39 for 60 pts. That probably translates to at least 80 today, but I’m totally throwing darts. It is certainly possible that Cozens has a higher ceiling. -

I’ve seen that movie and it was 🔥

Who is he playing with? That team is shockingly thin on the forward group. He’s second on the team in points, but his scoring touch has definitely taken a hit. I’m not advocating specifically for Kane, but take him away from Domi/Dickinson and plop him with Cozens or Tage and I bet that looks a little different.

I understand your gripe. I would be upset too. I’m sure their excitement of homeownership is through the roof and your job satisfaction gets you by. Sounds like a great time to me. Good luck with everything.

I started a thread that asked why do the Sabres stink at home, and was advised by some that they don’t. 🤷♂️ So this ought to be interesting.

I wasn’t trying to trade Mitts. I was trying to acquire depth. And I mentioned something fair for a UFA at the deadline would be a second rounder (I believe we have three) and a B-level prospect. Detroit will be a seller at the deadline. I think it is unrealistic to assume we don’t have an injury to our top nine forwards the rest of the way. Also, Bertuzzi scored 30 last year and he plays with an edge.
-
The hockey player was his uncle, but point taken. A strong room can overcome this type of stuff. If he becomes a problem, then put him in the press box and he can UFA his way elsewhere. I want talent for a playoff run. Gimme the nasty for 30 games.
-
He’s had two 20 goal seasons and one 30 goal season, so he can take Mitts spot for me. And he’s good insurance for a top six injury.
-
Does anyone live in the Detroit region or follow the Red Wings a bit? I am wondering about asking for Tyler Bertuzzi as a UFA rental? He was a belligerent 30 goal scorer last year. This year, diddly poo. How about one of our three second rounders and a B-level prospect for some heavy Bert into our lineup for a playoff run? Gimme the Granato magic on this guy and it might help the Sabres a lot for the rest of this year.

I’ll admit that I haven’t watched the Nucks at all. So it’s all recency bias for me. Any idea why it all fell apart this year? Demko’s career sv% is .909 in 145 starts.
-
Total sidebar—It is kind of funny to me that goalies can earn points, but aren’t scored for +/- Andy and Comrie both have an assist this year but they’re considered even.

If UPL hadn’t gone 12-4 in his last 16 games and was still in ROC, I would have thought this could have made a lot of sense. It is a nice bridge timeline to Levi (it would give Devon one year in ROC, one year as an NHL 1B, and hopefully year three as 1A). But I just don’t see the Sabres putting UPL back in ROC. So the fit isn’t perfect and I would have to pass.

Timo Meier rumour - Sabres contact Sharks
Porous Five Hole replied to Sabres73's topic in The Aud Club
https://sanjosehockeynow.com/san-jose-sharks-timo-meier-trade-return/ The ask appears to be: A 1st-rounder, and then one of: 1) a Grade-A prospect, or 2) two Grade-B prospects, or 3)one good prospect & a young established NHL player. So up to three pieces. And then the ask on a new contract “starts with at least a nine.”
