And halfway through the game the defenders then relax, but the forwards are still in a perimeter mindset and don't take advantage of it. From my perspective, it's more on the Sabres and less on other team's adjustments. Lot's of bad habits through the tanks years to break. Krueger has a tough time ahead of them. The young captain fell on deaf teammate's ears last year. Will it come through now? I saw a completely different offensive game out of them in the second Lightning game, so I have hope still.

Despite the score, there was a huge improvement in their playstyle from the first Lightning game to the second game last weekend. They reverted to perimeter play, then remembered to bring plays to the net. Problem was their playstyle for the first day after having so much time to practice. Powerplay fell apart and so did our scoring. GLO line stopped being dangerous. Line tweaks seem to help, but I think it's obvious we lack talent on forward. Some of our defenseman are also too weak to play the man. Hope we see some more line-tweaking going forward. Skinner really should be with Eichel. Reinhart and Eichel need to be separated. Yes, if we had a foreign all-star we should do a global series game. But we don't have any all-stars that aren't Swedish or CanAm. If we acquired one somehow, we should definitely do it again. A player will help, but them playing the puck around the boards nonstop and not tape to tape is the bigger issue.

Kucherov deserves a suspension before tomorrow for that dirty play Sabres are back to their dump and not chase, pass halfway up the boards and never get the puck back perimeter play again. And it’s suffocating. What happened to early season? In the offensive zone they’ve laid an egg. They are getting outplayed physically in the d zone, but that didn’t cause too bad of a problem today. It was the lack of offense that’s killing them and their confidence. Can’t do that with all our small guys.
