I think Okposo is going to be a pleasant surprise.

Maybe he wanted him to have a good game before sitting so he didn’t end up mulling during his time off. It’s not like this wasn’t the plan all along. I’ll be glad to see Mittelstadt play too. Hopefully some of these guys can force us into hard decisions.

Cozens is playing well. He was obviously gassed during the training camp coming straight from world juniors. Glad we have the taxi squad to give him a quick break so we don’t ruin the horse so quickly

Grit isn’t necessary if they play fast. Sheahan and Rieder play fast. Girgensons and Okposo are our grit and they’re hurt. The problem is not the bottom 6 right now at all. The top6 isn’t getting their bounces. Neither is Skinner, despite endless chances he has had.

This team is only a goalie, right coaching staff, and the right vets away from contending. They have the talent which is the hardest part to ever acquire. We have goalies in the system. I like what Krueger is doing more than I dislike, just not Steve Smith who I think is a problem. I don’t think Staal is the right vet tho

My point is they have the talent and chances. Yes Jack can play better but it’s not like we ran around our own end all game with our heads cut off or never generated high quality shots. The bounces just didn’t go our way. Happens to the best teams too

They had tons of chances and couldn’t finish. That’s their only problem this game. Anything else is just. BS narrative I like our bottom 6. This team is missing Okposo too Reinhart stargazing repeatedly. Getting sick of him not playing to his potential like always when he plays with Jack Cozens is pleasant to watch. Hope he is top 6 after Okposo returns. Oloffson stepped it up big time Maybe we should just make Dahlin a forward

How can someone claim Buffalo hasn’t tried to fix the goaltending? The legitimate rumor sources all had us tied with Calgary, with Arizona, and with Vegas for a goalie trade. Sometimes the price is absurd

They dominated play and control of the puck all night. We are good at making goalies look good, and good goalies look elite. But when we got stuck into our third string goalie things fall apart. That would be for any team. I’m happy we’re running circles in the offensive zone struggling to score as opposed to circling in the defensive zone never getting puck control. It amazed me shift after shift they were able to maintain possession, where the same players in years prior would’ve given up immediately. Frustrating game to watch, but not depressing.

We outplayed Philly all night. Some of the best forechecking we’ve seen out of this team in years. They just can’t finish. And our goaltending is ass outside of one save off of Huttons own atrocious rebound

They’ve has three games First was total skip by both sides. Still almost won if not for Hutton and Staal Second we dominated play 5v5, got blanked badly on the PP, and didn’t have the bounces. The PP being bad with new players and shortened camp is hard to get fussy about Third game, different team, played just as good as second game but this time rewarded. Over reactors post too much. It’s still too early to claim anything other than Hutton ducks and Staal has given up on hockey and we lost that trade

Not sure if I’ll make it through the third.. so here’s the notes Theyre keeping the pace they had against the caps in game 2, except actually scoring. They need to shoot more across all lines. Outside the goals of course, I am disappointed with Reinhart. Too much playing dying because he plays soft. Cozens is doing all the small things right, I want to see him jump up. Rieder and Eakin are invisible tonight. Is that the Thompson effect? Team defense has been good. PK looked good. Hope they can keep it up and it’s not just cocky Dlyers making it look this way. Eichel is carrying the puck again. Hall is a good player. Staal is a statue

I defended RK, but after those two games it’s hard to justify keeping Skinner away. He played well and defensively fine. No reason Oloffson should be playing ahead of him

Watching the Capitals vs Penguins game Penguins have no offense and their goals are flukes. Washington controlling the play. Penguins mostly running an umbrella PP. Penguins PK they are all standing like statues. We looked better than the Penguins, with the caveat of the finishing bounces not going our way Some people need to calm the hell down

I think we have a better chance in KC than Buffalo to be honest. Allen was neutered by that wind, we can’t have that again.

Kid hasn’t played in 11mo. Oh he’s still a kid. Defenseman always take longer, and he’s playing 25 min a night. He has magic talents and he’s just making small missteps. Calm the hell down

Outplayed them majorly all game and had every PP opportunity you could ask for and now they can’t score oye that’s a frustrating one Skinner our best player for two games, got a few more minutes but still not all the big ones he deserved with his play. Staal is still lazy. Cozens is maturing. Eakin and Rieder are actually a good third line and we will improve when Okposo comes back. We need more fore checkers. Cant argue with the goals against.
