  1. What the hell Reinhart
  2. Who was offsides ***** these refs
  3. What a trash penalty call
  4. Carter Hutton
  5. And just like that we’re 6 ptns out with 20 games to play
  6. What? Yes Team needed bodies and PK help. Frolik was both. Look at anything Toronto has been doing. That’s cap penalty
  7. If Frolik didn’t exceed your expectations I am concerned about your assessment of players. Our PK has been better and we aren’t fielding Wilson and Dea every game still
  8. no, you just want to hate on Botterill The price of cap space, especially at deadline time when teams are desperate, is a premium in a hard cap league that's had enough years for all the teams to build-up on their contracts but go ahead and change the title of the thread and still exclude the 50% retained tidbit...
  9. you're thinking about your math wrong. all that matters for cap hit is dependent upon where you are at a given-point in the season. They're retaining the equivalent of a start-of-season $2MM cap hit but let's take your other bold statement: "JB just mis-timed the market and mis-evaluated how much Scandy would yield in trade." So, what you're saying is that it wasn't important to find players to help fix the PK as early in the season as you could get another team to take on the cap hit? Wooo-- well if I remove all contexts surrounding my comparables it's no wonder you are confused on player's real values
  10. that's literally the difference in the closest comparable (literal previous trade) when cross-checked with what other teams paid just for cap, it also fits
  11. want to fix the title? 2nd round pick was for the 2 million in cap retention at the deadline for comparison-- toronto paid a 1st round pick for 6 million pre-season (bought out)
  12. You are perfectly capable of saying 'best underlying statistics' instead of 'best defenseman'
  13. These are also crazy prices. Hockey trade, stand pat, and sell last-second if teams really do get desperate and would include a 1st rounder for any of our rentals
  14. they could have had cap saved up (capfriendly is dead to me ? )
  15. I think everyone agrees with this
  16. can we stop using the words 'best' to describe fancy stats that are heavily dependent upon quality of competition and minutes played?
  17. He had a 1C last year, which is another solution to his woes that Krueger has refused to do for more than a few shifts.
  18. 2C may be what Skinner needs. He really needs puck retrievers on his lines and he hasn't had many.
  19. Overpaying for rental ROR impressive. They could have done that for no assets. Here’s a blast from the past of reporters mocking ROR for asking for 6.5: http://blogs.denverpost.com/avs/2014/06/17/ryan-oreilly-agent-now-preparing-arbitration-case-didnt-think-wed-attend/18548/
  20. Their dad is their agent
  21. Plus the Cal Oreilly saga?
  22. Except, you know, fix the same injury he’s had for a decade
  23. Rental with no guarantees of signing It was confirmed by Murray he had no conversations with ROR until after the deal Cant factor in hindsight
  24. Eh, I could say that he wants to show he can play in the NHL, in the NHL, because he’s trying to show off for his next contract. And he wasn’t going to do that in Buffalo and might not believe he could in Rochester. He’s forfeiting 1.4mil to salvage his career where he’s poised to make more.
