  1. SABRES REAL-TIME STATS LEADERS Hits: Ristolainen (101), Girgensons (52), McCabe (42) Blocked Shots: Ristolainen (58), Bogosian (51), McCabe (44) Shots: Eichel (139), Skinner (97), Ristolainen (80) SABRES’ RECORD IN 10 GAME SEGMENTS [W-L-OTL (PTS), GF/GA, PP, PK] 1-10: 6-4-0 (12), 26/28, 8/38, 22/30 11-20: 6-2-2 (14), 35/27, 4/28, 26/29 21-30: 5-3-2 (12), 31/32, 5/28, 23/29 31-40: 2-0-0 (4), 7/4, 2/9, 6/6
  2. Sabres vs. Caps History The Sabres are 2-6-2 in their last 10 games vs. the Capitals; 3-6-1 on the road. This is the 159th game all-time between Buffalo and Washington; Buffalo has an 88-50-20 series record. The Sabres are 41-27-11 on the road against the Capitals all-time. THIS DAY IN SABRES HISTORY The Sabres are 7-8-3 all-time on December 15. December 15, 1977: Gilbert Perreault scores a goal in each period to help the Sabres beat the St. Louis Blues 7-4. It was Perreault’s first of a career-high four hat tricks during the 1977-78 season. December 15, 2010: Buffalo gets two third-period goals from Drew Stafford to seal a 3-2 home win over the Boston Bruins, marking the 1,500th win in franchise history. December 15, 2017: Sam Reinhart appears in his 200th NHL game, Jack Eichel records his first career hat trick and Jake McCabe posts a career-best three points (1+2) in a 5-4 overtime loss vs. Carolina. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW Jack Eichel enters tonight’s contest on a four-game point streak (5+2). The Capitals join the Blues, Canadiens and Panthers as one of four NHL teams that Eichel has yet to score a goal against. Sam Reinhart has a goal and an assist in his last two games against Washington. DYNAMIC DUO Jack Eichel and Jeff Skinner are currently on pace to shatter their personal bests in points and make a mark in the Sabres’ record books on the strength of career-best production at even strength that ranks them among the best even-strength players in the league this season. If he maintains his current pace, Eichel would finish the season with the third-most even-strength points ever recorded by a Sabre (74), trailing only Pat LaFontaine (83) and Alexander Mogilny (78) in 1992-93, and would top LaFontaine’s franchise-record 52 even-strength assists that season. He would also become the first Sabre to record more than 95 points since the 1992-93 season (LaFontaine/Mogilny/Hawerchuk). Skinner is currently on pace to tie the second-highest goal total in Sabres history (56), trailing only Mogilny in 1992-93 (76). His 41 even-strength goals would finish behind only Mogilny’s even-strength total from 1992-93 (49) and Rick Martin’s 44 in 1973-74 for most in team history.
  3. Game Notes: Hutton is without a doubt our #1 goalie Casey line was dominant and looked and played fast 4th line with another good game Our backline is playing better than at anytime in the 2010 era Is this one of the best Sabres offensively gifted Dmen tandems in a long time if ever. Risto-Dahlin-Pilut-Bogo-Ballou all move the puck effortlessly The Samson to Jack to Skinner goal was nothing short of outstanding Are we already spoiled by the skill level on this team in comparison to the last 5 years Who sits when Scandella, Hunwick and McCabe come back, ok Tennyson is one, who's the other 2?? Do we get 3 players in the all star game?? Jack and Skinner have to be there, Risto?? Dahlin?? Hutton?? It's so much fun to be watching and getting excited over Sabre games again.
  4. I think it may be the salsa or picante sauce?? As for the player comparisons, it always seems to me we remember the best moments or year of a certain player of the past and for get a guy like Samson is still only 23 years old. When the Sabres become a perenial playoff team with an eventual SC, these guys will all be unforgettables.
  5. The man is back IMO he'd be smokin' Dark
  6. R. Dahlin scored his 1st NHL goal the last time these teams played with assists from Skinner and Rodrigues THIS DAY IN SABRES HISTORY The Sabres are 8-10-3 all-time on December 13. December 13, 1972: The Sabres defeat the Boston Bruins 7-3 in a game which featured 154 penalty minutes, including 76 by the Sabres alone. Among the penalties was the infamous fight that featured Sabres defenseman Jim Schoenfeld crashing through the zamboni doors with Bruins forward Wayne Cashman. December 13, 2008: Thomas Vanek scores the 10,000th goal in franchise history in a 4-2 win at New Jersey. SAM I AM Sam Reinhart enters tonight’s game on a career-best seven-game point streak (5+5), topping his previous career high of five games set from Dec. 20 to 29, 2017. It’s the third-longest active streak in the NHL, trailing only Mikko Rantanen and Alex Ovechkin (12 games each) and ties as the longest by a Sabre this season. Reinhart has recorded 23 points (8+15) in his last 23 games, including eight two-point games during that stretch. With eight multi-point games through 31 games played this season, he is two shy of his career-high 10 in a season. The Sabres are 13-3-2 this season when Reinhart records at least one point and 25-3-5 (.833) in his career when he records at least two. HOME COOKING Buffalo enters tonight’s game with a 10-3-2 (.733) record at home this season. The team’s .733 points percentage at home tied for fifth in the NHL entering play Wednesday and puts the Sabres on pace for their sixth-best home record ever, and the best since the 1979-80 season (27-5-8, .775).HOME COOKING
  7. 8. Wrong Within the next 10 years, Houston will have the 3rd largest metropolis population in the U.S., tons of ex-yankees here, natural rival in Dallas, if you don't know the full story on the Eulers you should just not post on it, the owner will have a major interest in the playing facility, the ex-owner of the Rockets was used to keep Edmonton in Edmonton, he never forgave Bettman for it, he's now out of the picture. One thing is true is that you will have to nurture the franchise for awhile until it blooms.
  9. Thoughts on the game: Eichel is playing as well or better than he ever has Skinner is just a PITA in front of the net The rookies Dahlin, Pilot, Casey, Thompson (he's only played 65 games in his career he's still a rookie), Ullmark kick the skill level on this team up to a higher level than it's been in a long time, having said that they are all making rookie mistakes that will eventually go away, be patient brothers and sisters, be patient Dahlin has otherworldly skills especially for a Dman. Wow, nothing short of WOW moments Girgensons must be overly aggressive with Mrs. Pegula, no other reason he's not a mainstay on that 4th line, brings energy every game I know some of you guys hate Bogosian, but I just don't get it, he brings veteran leadership to the backend Coach Smith may be the steal of the year for this team The Dmen are light years ahead of where we were the past few seasons, just night and day Phil find out who coached the PP for disco Dan and bring him back, immediately Larsson scored a goal, Larsson scored a goal, nothing short of a Bucky Dent moment We won't win the cup this year but POINTS against anybody is a good thing for this team. Trust me on this, it's a good thing
  10. Bumpity Bump 40 more Friday's to go before I complete my working journey and Retire.
  11. I am probably in the minority here but I don't understand the angst with who's at the games. I don't recall anyone complaining about all the Sabre fans at Tampa Bay recently or the yearly contingent at Hurricane games. In fact the more raucous the fans at the games the better. The atmosphere in Tampa and last night I thought just added to the games, the competing lets go leafs and Lets Go Buffalo or the chants in Tampa, were nothing short of awesome. With all the Leaf fans in southern Ontario who can't go to games in Toronto, they are going to come here if they get the chance. Why begrudge them because they don't cheer for the same team we do. Their money spends the same as ours, they are after all hockey fans, embrace them for that if nothing else. The STHs didn't consult me or us when they put their money up to buy the tickets, why should they consult you when they sell it for whatever reason??
  12. Normally I'd be all in on this but there's a lot of conjecture that this franchise may move to Houston. In which case I'd say we need to get this franchise back on their feet. Pump it up.
  13. Lotsa poop in your posts today Mr. NS
  14. Poop would be my guess. I think it has more to do with if you like a guy you see and remember his good plays and if you don't you see and remember his bad plays. It's probably the same with plays and posts, Nashville had 117 points last year the Sabres had 62, a difference of 55 points This year thru approximately 1/3rd of the season they have 39, close to on point from last year, we have 37. I think a lot of us are watching different Sabres games from you this year. You seem to young to not ENJOY the ride so far this year. Relax, don't do it, when you want to post it.
  15. FIFY...... Although to be fair when those few bandwagon together it seems like many.
  16. To finish off darks poem......... Do you question the young children in the sorrow, Why their tears are falling so ? The old man NS may weep for his to-morrow Which is lost in Long Ago — The old tree in NS is leafless in the forest — The old year is ending in the frost — The old wound, if stricken, is the sorest — The old money he stole is hardest to be lost : But the young, young children, O my brothers, Do you ask them why they stand Weeping sore before the bosoms of their mothers, In our happy California ?
  17. Listening to Tampa feed, they are really very complemtary to our boys, expecting a large sabre crowd
