  1. Good luck, Toronto airport has been a nightmare recently.
  2. Maybe his vision of Jack is being the next Bergeron.
  3. Bob McKenzie’s list should drop soon, it has been pretty accurate over the years. I believe he talks to 10 or 12 scouts and uses their consensus list to predict the first round.
  4. James Patrick is the coach of Savoie and Geekie so the Sabres could get some top notch stuff from him.
  5. Welcome back. Thanks for this, I like to read what scouts think, even if there are multiple opinions on a guy. I was not high on Geekie and now want to avoid him. I don’t like to hear no motor and lack of compete. I like Kasper at 16 and the quotes encourage that. That is a good spot to pick a middle six C who is responsible and works hard. I don’t want a LHD at 16 but if the Sabres think Korchinski is BPA they might have to take him and manage the assets later. I hope for Savoie or Nazar at 9. I would think the team has some good intel on Nazar from interviews and our analytics guy related to the USNDTP staffer.
  6. I listened to the podcast, Peca just sounds like a leader. I liked the part where JJP was miffed about Quinn getting Rookie of the year so he went out next game and got a hat trick. I hoped he would’ve talked about UPL but Dell was the guy brought up. Sounds like Rousek may turn some heads.
  7. I like #1 the best because I think Savoie and Nazar have the highest ceilings and play C. Chesley is a RHD, which is a need. Lekkeremaki is like Quinn, Korchinski is a LHD but Miro could be a steal. No Cs in that group or the 3rd one.
  8. I like Kasper at 16. He doesn’t sound like a high ceiling C but is defensively solid and works hard. Sounds like Lundell from a few years ago. I think they need to take a C at 9 or 16, the Sabres have plenty of W in the system. I am watching Korchinski play in the WHL finals right now. He can certainly skate and handle the puck. It seems like he never leaves the ice.
  9. Isaac Howard is a guy I was impressed by at the U18s, he also led the USNDTP in scoring. He doesn’t seem to be generating much attention on draft boards.
  10. I voted MAF but would say Manson and Copp are attractive targets. I think Copp gets better offers elsewhere though.
  11. There are a lot of banged up players. We know about Point and Kadri but there are others who are playing hurt. The sacrifices for the good of the team have been great to watch. I would love to have a right handed McDonagh on the Sabres, what a warrior. He always seems to make the right play. Avs are hungry but Tampa wants to threepeat. This should be a good final. I’m leaning Avs but I won’t be upset either way.
  12. Sabres always beat the Leafs, need to meet them in the first round and keep the Leafs run intact.
  13. Way better than Eakin. This is his first time in the playoffs but he has played well. He scored the game winner in the World Championships last year for Canada. He played in the World Juniors back in the day. Wore an A in Ottawa.
  14. Maybe 2 7ths make a 6th and 2 6ths make a 5th. 9th overall plus a 3rd and a 7th to move up to 6th and get Jiricek.
  15. Looking for a reel workout, eh? I’ve got to stay with a riding mower, too much lawn.
  16. Could he be flipped to a cap strapped team for LTIR relief once the season starts? I am not worried yet, there is still a lot of cap space left. They could still take on Price, Bobrovsky and Pietrangelo. Maybe this is part of a bigger deal?
  17. At the very least, invite them to development camp to get a closer look.
  18. Olivier Nadeau and the Shawinigan Cataracts are one win away from playing in the Memorial Cup.
  19. Fleury would be an excellent signing in my opinion. He has always been loved by his teammates and a true pro. I think he has some game left and would be the #1 until one of the young guns is ready. He would fit KA’s character requirements, if he wants to be in Buffalo. He will have to be sold on the Sabres plans and continued development. He and his family have moved around a lot the last few years so he would want some term and NTC. Maybe KA convinces him and Letang to come as a pair. Sabres have cap space.
  20. Yeah, they seem hesitant to give him what he deserves. It handcuffs them even more to fill out the rest of their lineup is probably the issue. I hope they pay dearly to get rid of Mrzak, or get stuck with him.
  21. I would rather sign Campbell and leave them hanging with Mrzak and his contract. Watching Dumbas squirm and give up assets to take Mrzak’s contract like he did with Marleau, just to clear cap room, in order to find a goalie would make me happy.
  22. Speaking of Russians, their teams from the 70’s and 80’s were almost all left handled. Kamensky is the only right handed guy that jumps out at me from those teams. I wonder if it was like the origins of golf, where you had to play right handed. Maybe they only had left handed sticks in Russia.
  23. He also has a punchable face. My wires would cross playing vs him and I would’ve gotten suspended for life, or had my face caved in by Chara.
  24. Yeah, or he isn’t into bulls**t. As long as he works on his weaknesses, you know he has the right mindset. If all he cares about is scoring goals then you have a lesser Laine on your hands.
  25. I think I would pick Lambert, provided his interview didn’t reveal some fundamental problems. He has tons of talent and could be brought to N.America right away to develop. Part of the issue may be the teams and or roles he played in Liiga. Maybe he needs to get away from his father. Let him dominate in the CHL for a year to get his confidence back, or if his skill level allows, play in Rochester. The risk is he may be a Yakupov or Alex Nylander.
