None at all. Rosen just scored to give Sweden a 2-1 lead.

Rosen with a PP assist on Sweden’s 1st goal vs Switzerland in a pre tournament game.

Time to reconsider Expected Goal % as a major stat?

That’s why I can only talk with grumpy old men. -
Probably my favourite gif

Is Devon Levi Trying to Force His Way Home?
French Collection replied to Porous Five Hole's topic in The Aud Club
It’s like the Leafs are the destination for every Ontario kid, every big name UFA and every big name trade. Montreal is where their media wants every Quebec kid to be. I’m sure it was Levi’s team growing up. -
He’s always been near the league lead for assists. His career numbers are almost 2 assists for every goal. I think he is pissed that Matthews was MVP because he got more goals. He looks like he wants to score as many as he can this year. Gretzky was always a big assist guy and he went from 55 to 92 goals when he decided to be “selfish”.

Rasmus Ristolainen, the myth has finally been broken
French Collection replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
The gift that keeps on giving, the Sabres got a 2023 second rounder from the Flyers as well as the Isaak Rosen pick. The Sabres got 6 months of Robert Hagg who was moved for a 6th round pick (Gustav Karlsson). -
Carolina shutting out the Devils 3-0 in the third. Devils falling back to earth.

I got home last night from storm restoration work in upstate NY and the company I work for has been called back to work possibly through the holidays because the utilities expect significant outages and a shortage of staff.

I’m going to keep using Toews as an example. I have always admired his game, subtle but effective 200’ play. Crosby gets credit for the Golden goal in Vancouver but Toews led that star laden team in scoring and was a force on both special teams while playing the 3rd line. I think it is too early in the rebuild to get him but a guy like him could really help, provided he’s got more game left than the Eric Staal experiment. The comparable I am going to use is Bryan Trottier going to the Penguins before they had won anything. Lemieux was 24 and Jagr was 18. All world talent but they didn’t know how to win. Trottier was over the hill but brought a winning pedigree and a burning desire to win more. He played 3rd and 4th line roles and helped them win two Cups. Not many teams can afford Toews this year and maybe he could help mentor the kids and lock down the 3C role. His hometown Jets will likely push hard for him but maybe Kane is selling the Sabres to him in the background while telling him he would take a low salary as a UFA to win in Buffalo. Anyway, that was a long winded way of saying the Sabres could use some solid vets when they decide to go for it.

I like the name DG has given him a few times, the antidote. I watch him and sometimes want him to deliver crunching hits and to be in guys’ faces but that isn’t his game. He eliminates the man, takes the puck and moves it to the right spot. Those big hits would be good for highlights but would wear him down or injure him. I seem to be able to relax knowing he is on the ice.

I’m still on the fence about getting Kane. Definitely as a UFA only, the price will be too high for KA to trade for him. I agree that Kane is slowing down, but the Hawks are a lot weaker team this year. Debrincat, Strome, Hagel and Kubalik gone from their lineup. Time catches up to everyone but Kane can still help an offense, especially on the PP. If KA makes some moves to add D depth and a spot is open for Kane to join the team on a good contract, I will get behind it. Ask Debrincat if he misses Kane, he is on pace for less than 30 after two 40 goal seasons.

Cam Allen was a potential first rounder not that long ago. I am not sure what is happening, his OHL numbers have not been great. He is a RHD who might be available in the second round.
-
Yeah, it’s not a fluke or just a hot streak, he will be in the running for the Richard trophy. Too bad McJesus has his eyes on that hardware too, he is being more selfish and trying for goals.

Jack’s not here to refer him to the GM.

That is an interesting take on Anderson’s influence on UPL. His game has looked simpler, while he has scrambled to make a few spectacular saves. His rebound control has been much better.
-
There are similarities. Tage has the size to shield the puck and the hands to make guys look silly. His one timer is elite while the wrist shot picks corners like Mario. Lemieux was a better passer and was able to win big games in the playoffs and internationally with key plays. Tage isn’t getting abused like Lemieux so his durability may be better.

They have been a pair forever and maybe they see this team as one more shot at a Cup. Trade for Toews to help in a playoff push and he can report back to Kane how great the guys are and what they are building in Buffalo. Mitts is from the Midwest and is young enough to improve and be a good player for Chicago.
-
Tell him that he played really well and that his trajectory is on the right path. He is young and needs games. Continued good play can turn a good Rochester team into a contender, there is value in winning at the AHL level. He and Subban can be a great tandem in that league. Comrie needs some games to regain his form and to show what he can do. If he or Anderson break or falter then UPL comes, knowing the job can be had.
-
So does Auston Matthews.

They need more of a Toews type, to play 3C. Work hard both ways, win key draws and provide leadership. He would be a lot cheaper to get.
