You ever try to walk and chew gum at the same time? Yeah, I didn’t think so either.
  2. I mean, I care enough to post that I don’t care what someone chooses to use as a nickname for UPL6K2U. So, you got me, I guess. I think it’s more than a little odd that someone would take exception to someone else’s choice for shorthand, assuming it’s not an offensive name.
  3. “Universally accepted” I mean, who cares, really?
  4. I thought it was pretty obvious why. Fewer characters to type out.

I disagree. I think they have tightened up, but hard to play against? Nah.
  6. Welp, twas an edge of your seat season all the way to the final drive. I felt like we didn’t give this game away, unlike previous playoff games against the Chiefs. With the injuries we had on defense, I didn’t really expect that this team could contain the Chiefs, and they still did force the Chiefs to punt late. IMO 27pts is about all you can expect from a defence that looked alot like the Sabres defence that lost the conference finals against Carolina. This was a game where the better team simply ended up with the better result. And we still almost pulled it off (I hope Diggs is a little contrite after proving to be fallible when we really needed him). But those bomb on a rope plays are notoriously low percentage, so I’m not upset. Disappointed? Yes. And the pit was fed. What the hell, football gods?
  7. 4 years of failure is just, failure, for me. Maybe my mind changes if a cup is hoisted, but I’m not sure it does. So much can be done inside of the glacial pace we’ve been forced to accept. We’ve seen teams go from contenders, to rebuild, to contenders again in 4-5 seasons. Going from inheriting two 2nd overalls and a 1st overall, and adding another 1st overall does not need 4-5 seasons to build a team. No other team in league history has needed as much time with that much top end talent. We know that teams plan for ~20% roster turnover each season. 5 seasons is 100% roster turnover. (I know you, Taro, understand that this is number of players turned over, not actual full rosters, but I state it here before someone yells “balderdash!”). 4-5 seasons is an ETERNITY in the world of professional sports. Taking that long tells me the GM is either risk averse or too attached to his roster. I am 100% sure the tank and subsequent drought has colored my opinion here. At 13 seasons long, 95% of the players in this league have not seen the Sabres in the playoffs. Maybe 98%.
  8. I’m not sure why you chose to quote my post to reply with this. I generated agree with the sentiment.

I disagree with this premise. I seriously doubt coach’s lack of working the refs is a substantive reason for our dearth of powerplays. My guess is that the Colorados and Vegas’s of the league get the powerplays becuase they are harder on the puck, and that aggression leads to more penalties taken by their opponents for holding, tripping, interference, etc.
  10. Thats funny. I was thinking of someone else it was mocking.
  11. Probably as long as he was getting that response to the inexperienced GM and coach replies.
  12. I was in the process of typing out a post about how disheartening it would be to be a seller again this year at the deadline. Then I stopped and deleted it all because, can it get more disheartening than it already is/has been?
  13. They’re gonna trade Greenway AND Mitts? fire him.
  14. Teaching offense is hard I heard somewhere
  15. Regarding ypur last question, yes. They were trying to improve the team now, hence the inclusion of Sobotka and Sad Pants.
  16. Wait…. A Greenway trade is imminent? KA is a bum.
  17. All of them. Everyone. At all of the cost.
  18. After EJ twice came to the aid of teammates previously, I really wanted to see someone step up and do the same for EJ last night. EJ gonna think twice next time.
  19. Ryan Miller may disagree.
  20. Emphasis on “unintentionally”. IF the intent were to adjust the timeline, you could make an argument that the trade was positive. But it was clear that Sobotka and Berglund were intended to help the team in the present while the magic beans took root. Clearly that was not the result. It was a lousy trade when judged on intent, leaving out the variables of what the prospect and pick became. Not Hasek for hot garbage bad, but bad nonetheless.
  21. De ja vu or is it Vu ja de? I never remember.
