  1. Double whammy today. Two summers ago I slipped on a concrete boat launch that was pretty slimy and fell hard. My tailbone had been messed up ever since. Got an MRI. My tailbone is officially messed up. Talked to a surgeon today. He indicated that there isn’t much of anything treatment wise that can be done. PT and cortisone injections apparently have poor success rates and surgery is essentially removal of the tailbone. He said there are only a couple of surgeons that do it, and success rates are not good either. He highly recommends I not pursue that route. Message was essentially, deal with it, change how I manage it, and find a support group for that sort of injury. ***** me. I have to live with this I guess. Aaaaaand. The wife and I have been planning a 4 day weekend in the Finger Lakes. Got an airbnb with reservations starting tomorrow. Guess who has two thumbs and a brand new upper respiratory infection? This guy. Hoping the host will allow us to move the dates out today. ***** head colds.
  2. I dont recall any consensus either. Both Sam’s and Leon were all in the mix, and if I have any memory at all, Leon was 3rd of the 3 on most lists.
  3. Yeah, mixed feelings here too. Would have been somewhat comforting to hear that he had some sort of tryout with the team to evaluate his skating, and he chose elsewhere because of our spot in the standings. At least we would have known we were a legit option for him.
  4. Hank be gloating. You called it. Hope it stays this way.
  5. I have a confused.
  6. They should make him work on his size in Rochester. I kid, I kid. If UPL6KOopie is gonna get a starters workload, Levi absolutely should get the starters workload (or at least 50/50) in Rochester so he can continue to hone his game with a reasonable game frequency. As an aside, my phone offers Ra-cha-cha as an alternate choice for Rochester, lol.
  7. Thorny, you’re my guy. Carrying conceptual disagreements into conversations that have nothing to do with the disagreement isn’t cool. Imma back off. You are too emotionally invested presently.
  8. It’s the number of teams we need to leapfrog that is really going to become unmanageable. Out pointing “one” team has its own difficulty. Out pointing 4 teams? The difficulty ratchets up considerably.
  9. @Brawndo I am not sure you can say this with any degree of confidence….. “Granato isn’t making the most effective lineup decisions for the team based analytics, AKA He doesn’t always listen to them. “ …..if you also understand this to be factual… “They do have both private data they gather themselves and data that is exclusive to NHL Teams “ We have no idea what data Granato may or may not be using.
  10. The Rags were in the cup finals in 13-14 , and 7th in their division as recently as 18-19. They seem on pace to be serious cup contenders again. The Rangers are a threat to be another team that was a cup contender, rebuilt after a bit of a run, and is back to contention again, all while the Sabres wander in the desert.
  11. Whoa
  12. As Stamkos so infamously stated, its an 85% league, but Okie’s message in the 2nd intermission was, clearly this team still needs to be playing at 100% to win.
  13. Based simply on points, the Sabres have 2 teams to leapfrog, and 2 teams they are tied with. The season is still manageable, but they absolutely cannot get into a situation where they have more teams to leapfrog over for that last playoff spot. The season really is in the balance. Right. Now. They can’t afford to wait go on a run after Christmas.
  14. I think we are forgetting the history of this offseason. VO on the roster was a given the day Quinn was injured.
  15. CNN: Waiting for facts MSNBC: Waiting for facts CBS: Waiting for facts ABC: Waiting for facts Fox News: IT'S A TERRORIST ATTACK!!!
  16. I assume the puzzle has a couple of missing pieces. ”We’ll send them in a couple years”
  17. Ugh. Unreliable sources for something like this. Jeez.
  18. What’s disappointing is there is no really reason to extend the list any further.
  19. I’m not sure you’ve corrected me when your response is that 2 out of 16 playoff positions weren’t determined on Christmas day. My point stands. By Christmas, playoffs are mostly determined.
  20. By Christmas a teams’ playoff fate is mostly settled, so sure, you can readily prognosticate a full assessment at that time. However, the time to react to save a season is mostly over by then.
