Just a bit condescending. Nothing is guaranteed. The wait and develop internally approach takes alot of time. While that happens Dahlin could suffer a career altering injury. Same with any of the others. We have an actual team for the first time in over a decade. We know what holes need to be filled. We know that winning and playoff success won’t come right away once the core is fully developed. It took Colorado 5 seasons of playoffs to get it right. Plugging holes now and starting a winning environment now is not impatient, it is acknowledging that winning the whole thing takes time and the longer you wait the more you chance fate intervening and your older core players aging out.

I don’t get the optimism. I expect that these stories will only become more numerous as the war in Ukraine continues.

A team in the hunt for next season should have pre-emptively made that trade to deny Tampa the help.

Given KAs total lack of comment regarding Portillo, I don’t buy this for a second regardless of Power’s comments. KA essentially treating Portillo as a non Sabres prospect speaks volumes regarding the situation.

I think targeting Levi in the trade was a sign that the team wasn’t sold on Portillo. That is definitely reason to be threatened. Nonetheless, it is an indication of Portillo’s lack of faith in his ability to come out on top of this. He’s going to be battling the next guy in line for however long his pro career lasts.

I’d be surprised if Russia lets their athletes continue to go to western leagues.
