Don’t know what the F respiratory bug I managed to contract, but it’s been kicking my ass for 7 days now. COVID negative, so theoretically its not that. I don’t think I’ve ever produced so much phlegm in my life. Last 2 nights have been feverish, although that seems to calm down in daytime. Run down, sleep deprived, coughing and sneezing all over, and going through a box + of kleenex a day. Ugh.

Can anyone recall an example, Sabre or otherwise, of a center who exploded to 1st line numbers and not maintain it for a few seasons?

Offseason Gameplan 2022 - Solving the goaltending system wide.
Weave replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
This perplexes me. Most likely best case scenario, Levi and Portillo sign at the end of next season. Most likely both will spend the bulk of their first full season in Rochester. If one excels, he starts the following season in Buffalo. 22-23 both goalies in NCAA 23-24 both goalies in Roc 24-25 one goalie in Buffalo Why in the hell wouldn’t KA give a good NHL goalie a 4yr deal? When both goalie prospects will be ready for NHL duty (big assumption here), that 4 yr deal is an expiring deal. Those are readily moved if the goalie has any tread left. If pigs ever fly, UPL shows up as a good NHL goalie, and one of the college kids ever make it, we’ll have tradebait. If FA goalie “X” and UPL scares away our prospects……. I mean, UPL shouldn’t be scaring away a guy that's confident in his game. And we still don’t have a starting goalie until we actually have a starting goalie. KA cannot afford to roll the dice on this roster while UPL, Portillo, and Levi sort themselves out over the next 3-4 seasons. -
Probably would have been more diplomatic to say, “I can’t explain it any better”. Ha! Me. Diplomatic. What a crock.

I’ve stated in one of these threads that someone we all like is gonna be moved to fill a hole. Mitts is an obvious possibility, but so is Krebs. He could be flipped readily. Like you though, I’m not sure he’s shown enough to bring back the value we’re looking for.

My dad was a Toronto and Montreal fan before the Sabres came into the league. HNIC was every bit as important to watch as the Sabres. But once ‘71 hit, Toronto and Montreal were back seat teams.
-
Why would players around the league have dislike for a team that makes moves to get marginally better? Wouldn’t everyone want to be on the team that is continuously trying to upgrade? Isn’t that why the Bills are currently a team everyone wants to be on? I get it if we are talking about the guys that got moved. Everyone is entitled to sour grapes. But why would say….. Timo Meier be extra motivated to knock Vegas out of the playoffs?
-
I get why this all would be meaningful for fans that are rooting against Vegas. But I get the sense that players around the league are also rooting against Vegas. I find this interesting, and I don’t think what you’ve described explains it. Would love to hear from someone with current player contacts regarding what the motivations are for players to he rooting against Vegas.

Funny. We look forward to the return of the bats in the backyard too. At 8:15 there was still a bit of daylight. Love it.

If accurate, F the no blocking the kids mindset. Get another goalie until you actually have all the goalies you need.

I don’t like other teams very much. Yet another example of my anti-social behavior.

I think this is a bad look from Lindy complaining about technology

I think this segment here is the beginning and the end of it. I highly doubt Ruff is actually anti new technology. And I don’t think he is so dinosaur to be that ineffective. I think it is simply that in a lost season he’s lost the room and the bench. And that happens to dinosaurs as well as current gen. I think this segment here is the beginning and the end of it. Ahh yes. It probably was TrueBlue.

I probably misremembered the poster that was reluctantly on board with Skinner being here because of his rep as a diver with Carolina. Now I’m not sure who it was if it wasn’t you.

@That Aud Smell has your feelings re: Skinner faded now that he is our chirper/diver?

GDT: 4/23/22 NY Islanders at Buffalo, 12:30pm MSG, ESPN+, WGR

The Isles aren’t one of the teams fighting to make the playoffs. It is not outside the realm of possibility (or likelihood for that matter) that they weren’t focused on beating Buffalo. -
Not until he’s spearing opponents in the groin.

It’s an interesting comment. At least it is to me. Id love for someone to ask Carter to expand upon that. I’m inclined to not movk the comment before hearing it explained. -
I was born i to it. My earliest memories include Sabres games on the TV.

Yeah, it is neat to watch guys play multiple balls, using a different strategy with each ball to get around a hole or tough spot, dropping extra balls to shape shots, and putt out from multiple locations to get a read on the greens.

I bet noone would have signed up for a bet that our PP would be better after moving Jack and Sam.

I was there in 03 as well. Practice the week leading up to the event is where it is at. The crowds are lighter and there is some interaction with the pros. Some of the old timers are real characters. I don't remember which hole, it's a par 5 that is cut roughly in half by a creek. Mickelson and Daly were playing together in the practice round we saw. When they got to the tee box, Michelson pulled out a 3 wood and the crowd booed. Daly offered Michelson a bet for longest drive, and Michelson went back to his bag and grabbed the driver. The crowd around the tee box roared. Neither one put it in the fairway on the first try so neither won the bet. Michelson was a little ahead of Daly when they both finally did put one in the fairway.
