Mr Perrault! His end-to-end rushes through the opposing team were awesome. I caught a NHL Network showing of Game 6 of the 1975 Finals the other day. Even though I knew the Sabres lost the series with that game, I enjoyed watching Gil and those guys again.
To piggyback on PerraultForever’s post, that team also included Don Luce, Craig Ramsay, Fred Stanfield, Jim Lorentz and Bill Hajt.

One of my critiques directed at Reinhart over the years is he doesn't drive the offense. He (and others) always give the puck to Jack, expect him to do all the heavy lifting, and just head to the open areas. Just imagine how good Jack Eichel can be if other teams can't focus solely on him and work at stopping him and have to worry about another guy driving the play into the offensive zone? This pairing imo, will boost Jack's goal totals tremendously. team's are going to have to play Jack more honestly 1 on 1 and that should create a world of new offensive possibilities.
More importantly, another playmaker on the PP should lead to big big dividends.
Ah, to have a power play unit again like the mid-70’s with the French Connection and Stanfield and Korab at the points. That unit not only scored a lot, they did it quickly. Memories.

Ullmark’s inability to hug a post is just maddening.
Hutton gets beat on wraparounds too much.

I’ve noticed in recents sports broadcasts, they have been playing Van Halen songs as the broadcast goes to break and at the locations. Pretty cool tribute.

It's a no-brainer add if the other option is nothing at all. So if they pass on him, they must have a better addition in mind.
Yeah, another guy they can sign for the minimum.

So, the Senators had to give up Jon Gruden and a 2nd round pick , 52nd overall, to acquire Murray.
Would the Sabres have had to trade Sean McDermott in order to get him?

I definitley hit save and locked it in 😞 I just went to the site to pick this week and it said I was eliminated.... I was enjoying this after opting out of fantasy this year.... Probably no way to get back in I'm guessing.
In the past, if eliminated early, I’d join a public league. This year on Yahoo there doesn’t seem to be only options to start a league or join a private league that you have the name/ID and password for. -

This screams to the Pegula's seeing that we didn't score enough goals, and going for a one dimensional player in Jack Quinn. Quinn is a quality hockey player and a first round talent, but this is such a ***** microcosm of how terrible this team is run. The Pegula's made this pick, our GM is a puppet and I ***** hate this team. @Pegulas get out the sport of hockey, you kill the fans every single year more and more. I hate this selection.
I don’t understand how this ownership gets it right with the Bills, after the dumb hiring of Rex, and is so bad with the Sabres. -
My daughter just got married 2 weeks ago. For our father/daughter dance, she selected Jump. It was a lot more fun than a slow dance.

Dantley would have been great as well.
Unfortunately the Braves’ management had no foresight. They had traded away C Elmore Smith to allow Bob McAdoo to play center. Then, after acquiring Malone, an ABA All Star in his rookie year, they couldn’t promise him the playing time he wanted so they dealt him for two future 1st round picks that they later traded away.

Thank you for the Bob Kaufman reference. Still miss the Braves and still believe if they had the right ownership they would have been Buffalo’s first “major” sport champion.
Different paths change the outcome, but the franchise just reached it’s 50th year without ever making it to the conference championship. Recently, details were posted of what really happened. Canisius College’s basketball team had #1 priority on dates at the Aud and weren’t going to give it up. I don’t know that a different owner would’ve made any difference. Perhaps one that was rolling in dough could’ve provided Canisius with some financial incentive but we’ll never know.

Geez, what is Washington doing beating Philly? I’m out. Overthought it. Decided to keep Baltimore for another week, now there are no other weeks for me.
Out in my other survivor league also as I picked Indy over Jacksonville. The 2 teams projected to be the worst both win their openers at home against playoff contenders. Go figure.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Yahoo is really screwing up in other fantasy areas so I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens for Fantasy Football, even though it’s their bell cow.
I play a few other fantasy sports and DFS and in the last week or so they’ve gone off the rails. Players’ season history is being wiped out and they’re not totaling the scores correctly.

So, why was my team removed?

Draft will be Tuesday at 7. Eastern. Sorry if you're on the Left Coast. It's just what I need to do in order to be ready for Wednesday, which traditionally follows Tuesday. I envision a 90 second clock unless people convince me otherwise. If you are not able to draft in person, PLEASE, I beg you, PLEASE set your draft thingy to auto so we don't have to wait out 90 seconds.
@TrueBlueGED In or out? By tomorrow at 5. Otherwise, @Claude Balls is in.
@SDS if you wouldn't mind a call tomorrow to make sure I don't screw this up, I'd appreciate it.
Time is fine with me.

Ok. Here's the plan. The following people, BY FRIDAY, please PM me with an email address that you will use for fantasy football:
@Derrico (if you're able to play--we understand if you can't and your health is paramount. You can have my spot next year if you can't play this year and if no one drops out.)
If I don't hear by Friday 5pm ET, I'll have to assume you're not into it this year. That's a ten-team league (including me), so we have room for two more even if everyone listed above participates, which I'm guessing won't be the case.
So, ANYONE ELSE who is interested, please PM me and you'll be admitted in the order received. The first two open spots are open as of right now, and more may open by Friday evening.
I believe we used yahoo last year and I'm willing to do that again, but I do find ESPN's interface to be a little easier.
Once we have a complete league, we'll set a draft date. Football starts Sept. 10, so I think we need to have the draft on or before Sept. 8. That is closer than it may seem; it is next week Tuesday.
Can I get on the waiting list?

NY winning the lotto seems undeserved. They get Kakko, Panarin, and now Lafreniere? And will continue to attract big name free agents because of location and market size? And have only been bad for 2-3 years?
Teams and their fanbases that have "taken their lumps," (Buffalo, Detroit, Ottawa, Winnipeg, etc) should have a better chance at first overall. Maybe the NHL could implement a rule where a team's lottery odds improve with each year they stay in the bottom 10 teams.
Everything was difficult, different and complicated this year, but once they decided on these plans to have the 24 teams with 7 not participating, the 7 should’ve been the only teams in the lottery. The league would’ve really had egg all over their faces if Pittsburgh or Edmonton had won the lottery. Even for it to be as it was, with all the play-in teams, it should’ve been weighted for the lower seeds, not giving them all an equal chance.

I hope Edmonton wins because screw this league and their stupid lottery.
And so Pittsburgh, Edmonton and Nashville all get a shot at the first pick.

And the East’s 6th seeded Rangers are now down 2-0 in their series.
Wait a minute. How did they come up with these seeds? Rangers were 37-28-5 and are #6. The Canes were 38-25-5 and they’re 11th? Anyway you look at it, the Canes won one more game and lost 3 less games. So, Carolina had 81 pts to the Rangers 79 and they’re in the same division. Can somebody ‘splain?
Never mind. Why do I trust Yahoo for sports? They have them all backwards. Bozos.

No, all the losers get entered into an equally weighted draw. Therefore, an undeserving team can/will get it ala Pittsburgh, Winnipeg, etc.
The *worst* team that can win it is Montreal, 24th ranked. It was a mess as soon as the draw allowed for a non-bottom 7 team to win.
And the East’s 6th seeded Rangers are now down 2-0 in their series.

I can’t imagine what’s it like to be a boss these days (non-COVID). When they call a staff meeting, do they have to collect all the cellphones. Now, if they do it on Zoom, they can see if everybody is paying attention but can’t do much about it if they’re not.
