  1. The Zoom room with the team members was a decent idea but the execution was poor.

The NBA & NFL do well with teams in their own war rooms, so I’m not sure the NHL needs to have them at the draft.  It always seemed strange to me to have up to a dozen people climb up on the stage for one to make the selection.

"Pick is in" seven minutes before pick is announced.

C-list celebrities and/or Jeremy Roenick (D-list) announcing picks and taking forever to do so.

    Little analysis.

This is the garbage I expect out of my favorite league.

Five minutes per pick was really like 15.

I agree but we had to make changes imo. I hate losing JJP but it definitely feels he wanted it out or Adams didn't want to point up the money for him. Either way I like the compensation of players vs picks that might have been all we got if somebody signed him up an offer sheet.

As others have said here, if you keep getting rid of players that don’t want to be on the team, it’ll be a revolving door and what do you have left?

I don’t want another small skilled forward. I want to build a team of bullies (on the ice). I want to be done with the guys who just look around when your top forward gets destroyed. Samuelsson should have been gone when he did nothing. Kesselring and Doan bring that toughness mentality so I expect almost every pickup that we get via trade or FA should have the same imo.

I’ve reviewed the video of that play.  I did see Samuelson move into the post hit gathering and give someone a push.   That’s more than you’d likely get out of Power.  Nobody else on the ice did anything.

For me, it doesn't matter what KA does positively this offseason. My view on him won't change. His record is his record. I have more animus for the owner who oddly hired him, and intensified my scorn for the owner for retaining him after half a decade of piddling performance. Even if KA has a stellar offseason, it won't be forgotten that he was the person who contributed to driving this damaged vehicle into the the ditch. My judgment is based on the body of work and not a segment of one's work.

And Darcy Regier is watching and thinking ‘I’m glad someone else is the scapegoat now and they’ve forgotten about me”

How is he not in already, NHL is an abomination, the red headed step child of sports.

Well, I think the Pro Football Hall of Very Good goes too far the other way.   If you don’t make it, the 1st, 2nd, 3td…..time, just wait, you’ll get in eventually.  You even get another shot with the veteran’s committee.   I don’t understand their logic in having a set number (5?) to elect in each year.  Is it all about having a big crowd?

Major kudos to the Baseball Hall of Fame, who in recent years have voted in nobody.

Maybe instead of looking for anyone else to blame and trying to leave these players should take a good hard look in the mirror and realize that they are the problem collectively and that they have the ability to provide the answers as well.

Yeah, any player saying he wants out so he can play in the playoffs is unacceptable to me.  Figure out how to get your current team there.

Byram out for a legit top 4 solid 2 way or defensive D-man that's in or very close to his prime and a 1st makes sense IF that 1st (or the Sabres 1st) is going out the door with Peterka and a piece like Rosen (that ends up the LITTLE bit extra to make the trade happen) for Robertson.

It's the ONLY way trading Byram for pieces makes sense if the goal is to make the Sabres better NOW.

And if Adams isn’t thinking 5his way, he’s even dumber than we thought.  If he’s not bringing back better players in trades, he’s filling out his own pink slip.  If he trades his existing NHL players for more draft picks, those will be used by his successor, or his successor …

  9. The timing of the news he had died was eerie.   I had just seen John Ratzenberger (Cliff Clavin) on a show (Poker Face) and wondered what George was doing.

I also just watched White Men Can’t Jump (Woody Harrelson) the other day.

I'm a staunch Power supporter. I strongly believe that when he physically matures he will be the better player. He's a tall and lanky player with a lot more ability to fill-out. Just like it took Tage a few years to become more physically developed, I see the same process applying to Power. I'm tired of seeing this fool franchise get rid of young players who become upper echelon players in this league, such as Eichel and Reinhart. (I'm aware that the situations were more complicated, but if Power is dealt our loss will be another team's big gain. Be patient and get the right partner for Power. I'm adamant about my position on this player.

Lanky?  He’s listed at 226#, which is similar to Tage.

He's had a terrific year and is our unsung hero. And he is being impactful while playing on a lower line than his talent should be on. He's big, fast, tough, and does the dirty work on behalf of the team. In addition to his scoring production, he's our best PK player. On top of all that his leadership is demonstrated more by how he plays than by his talk. It's a shame that his terrific season isn't rewarded by having the opportunity to participate in the playoffs.

Why has he been dropped to the 3rd line?

Good luck trying to find an actual elite goalie that's available. The modern NHL is filled with average goalies that play out of their minds for a year or two, then sink back into meh. We may have had someone in Ulmark but we all know how that went. I reckon if we brought in 2 physical defensive defensemen, our goalies will start to look proportionally better.

Yeah, and get Owen Power out of here.

And the end of season meaningless wins start happening to ***** up their draft position!

Unfortunately those back-to-back losses to Montreal are huge.  Sabres 9 points back right now.  Had they won both those Montreal games in regulation, they’d be only 6 pts back.

But, here we are riding out the schedule of the 14th straight non-playoff season.
