I don't think he will. I think both will be given till Thanksgiving. The writing on the wall is that the talent is too low right now. I think ultimately getting rid of ROR was TP move, not a JBots one or that TP owns part of that decision. If that's the case, not having a 2C and teams just needing to shut down our first line absolutely killed this teams ability to consistently win hockey games and TP will give a little extra slack. I think one good off-season is all we need to set the ship right.

For me, O’Reilly’s end of season comments showed he needed to go. He was supposed to be a team leader and he admits that he wasn’t enjoying playing that season which affected his play?  He should’ve been leading by example.

  2. At the trade deadline in the season of ‘Tank for McDavid or Eichel’ I thought it got ridiculous when Murray kept trading down on goalies. A goalie would play well for a couple games, like Halak, and he was then traded for a worse goalie.  So, I didn’t like that part of it but liked the result of Eichel.

This season is already in the tank so I would hate to see meaningless wins ruin chances at a better draft pick. Carter Hutton, I believe has shown he’s not good enough to be a starting goalie so I would play Ullmark as much as possible to further evaluate him as he hasn’t shown enough either.

This season is a lost cause, but the FO seems to think things are on the right track for the future. If anything, I would see the Sabres as buyers rather than sellers, but I doubt they land anyone good.  They certainly should not be trading assets for rentals at this point.

Contenders would be interested in Pominville and some might try to make a move on Skinner, but I hope the FO doesn't do that. I could also see interest in Bogosian and maybe Sheary, since he's got a lot of deep playoff experience for a young guy. Otherwise, there's not much to see here.

They need to forget about the early 10 game winning streak and come to realize that not all the wheels are on the track.

I’m having one of those days where I’m so pissed about a bunch of small things I may just punch a baby.

    This thread did not help.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. You’ll be better off.

I'm starting to come around to this conclusion. Maybe Phil inherited a bunch of guys who are just inherently dumb and lazy.

Wait a minute.  There was a fair amount of turnover to the roster from last year.  By my count there are about 7 forwards, 3 defensemen and a goalie that weren't on the team last year.  That's a big change.  Perhaps one could say Botterill has acquired a bunch of guys that are dumb and lazy but Phil hasn't done much with them.

. How about the O zone, no one in the slot for us, perimeter play all day long, using an umbrella type formation that appears to rely very heavily on the points as opposed to the forwards down low. These are just things I see game in and game out.

When I can’t watch a Sabres game, I usually record NHL Network’s ‘On the Fly’ to watch the highlights.  The other day they had a live look in on a Tampa power play.  The Tampa players kept crowding towards the net as a group and were half way in from the blue line and scored.  Watch a Sabres power play and they hang out on the perimeter passing back and forth causing me to yell at the screen to shoot the puck. When they do, it’s either blasted wide or blocked and seems to be easy to defend by the opponent.  Individual plays by Jack either scoring or passing to Skinner seem to be all they can do.

I got sent home once about 5 years ago because it was absolutely nuts outside. Like pure whiteout. I drove home by watching the lights infront of me and the purple line on my GPS. If it had been dark I would have been spending the night at work.

I had a similar experience years ago. I worked in OP down the road from the stadium.  I was driving down 219 in the morning and all I could see were the taillights of a semi in front of me. He put his blinker on to get off and I knew I wouldn’t be able to see anything so I followed him off.  I was happy to find that it was my exit.

  8. I just watched the Mogilny defection story on NHL Network.  Very intriguing.  Interesting that Luce and Meehan put themselves on the line for him.

I was already on the West Coast when this happened so I don't recall hearing much about it, but it was 30 years ago.  Then with things changing in Russia it was good he was able to go back and coach.

It's unfortunate that I didn't get the chance to see him play much with the Sabres.

The Magic Roundabout in Swindon, England, was constructed in 1972[1] and is a ring junction consisting of five mini-roundabouts arranged around a sixth central, anticlockwise roundabout. Located near the County Ground, home of Swindon Town F.C., its name comes from the popular children's television series The Magic Roundabout. In 2009 it was voted the fourth scariest junction in Britain.[2]

That picture reminds me of my experience in Boston.  I pulled up to it and the instructions to get to the hotel just said to take a left.  No matter which one I took I kept ending up back there.  Five hours later I ran out of gas.

Got barfed on at Rich Stadium when I was 10, Cowboy game with my Dad.  Like full on all down the side of me. I want to say Gregg Bell broke a 90yard TD run and the Bills won.  They were 2-14 that year I think.

    I was at that game

  11. This is the 3rd straight season with a West Coast trip in October.  NHL not doing them any favors with this schedule.  At least this season they have the 4 home games before heading West.

In 2016 they did well to get 4 pts in 4 games out west with only one game prior.  Last year a little worse with 3 pts out West in 4 games.

I think they need to get at least 4 pts in these 4 home games and hopefully the same for the 4-game trip which maybe will provide some team bonding (didn't work the last 2 years).  A record of 2-6 or worse through the trip will again be difficult to overcome and should put Housley on thin ice.

It was always nfl.com/fantasy.  Go to that site.  Log in and your team and league will be shown there.  Don’t forget the draft is Tuesday September 4th at 7pm.  Access to the draft room usually pops up about 30 min prior.

So, I guess the 2nd league isn't happening?
