That was nice. Much appreciated. I was focusing on the national debt in my post, but Reich's lesson on the deficit is related in that Republicans like to use the deficit as another fiscal boogeyman come election time. I still chuckle when I remember Cheney telling us all how deficit spending is actually a good thing. One thing I can give him credit for is that he was honest and didn't duck a tough question when asked. He readily admitted that all judges bring their own biases to their decisions, good or bad. And that all judges were activists to some degree or another. I didn't like most of his decisions, but I appreciated his candor in discussing them. "I'm not crazy," is just one example of many with him.

I think the national debt has been a boogeyman long enough. Fact is, we owe most of that money to ourselves and we haven't been negatively impacted in any dramatic way because of it. I've heard for years that if we don't get it under control then interest rates will sky rocket. Really? How long have we had record low interests rates now? As for foreign creditors what, are China, Japan, and other foreign holders going to call in their markers all of a sudden? Highly doubtful as they would risk major negative impacts on their own economies. Indeed, they keep buying more and more US Treasuries! Gotta keep those US exports strong.

Good point, here. And not just because I agree entirely. Well, OK, it is because I agree entirely, but good point none the less. GO SABRES!!! Absolutely. I and others have made that point several times throughout this thread. As I said previously, it is a sign of an insecure fan psyche to have to believe your team won a trade. Both teams and fans are happy with the players they received in the deal. What's not to like? For either side? GO SABRES!!!

The ascendance of Risto made the loss of Myers a moot point for us; he provided all the offense and FAR better defensive play than Myers. The Jets needed his type of game from a defenseman, while Bogo gave us the sand we needed at the position on our team. I've said it before and I'll say it again, in his first game in our uni, Bogo had 11 hits. 11 hits! That represented 25% of the ENTIRE SEASON TOTAL for Myers at that point. Good trade for both teams. GO SABRES!!!

I suspect it is his "plan" for ISIS.

It's brain science. GO SABRES!!!

All due respect because I love the guy, but wtf is DeLo doing on a top line? Because he's a vet who hustles and has "earned" it according to DD? I DEMAND that Bailey replaces him and skates a MINIMUM of 18 minutes tonight including PP time! Don't make me come down there Daniel. GO SABRES!!!

I think the Marchand penalty shot unnerved him. He literally hasn't been the same goalie since. GO SABRES!!!

You may want to look at his latest response to d4rk a above for some insight into his political psyche. It may be a representative sample.

Wonder what the self-styled "relentless patriot" (whatever that is) was up to.

McKenzie speculates that Stamkos will end up in Buffalo
K-9 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
You nailed it. And thanks for introducing a new word to the vernacular. Stamkos won't be the last to Babcock a team. GO SABRES!!! -
Agreed. It will take at least a sawbuck to fix this team. GO SABRES!!!

Why wait? Sabres should send his whiney Russian ass and the bad attitude back to Russia now. GO SABRES!!!

I was referring to the amount of characters I would have to type to be able to adequately list and describe all the negatives about tonight's game. And I agree, we have a dearth of talent. GO SABRES!!!

I'm not buying it. If Bailey has a bad shift or two on the 4th line before he has a chance anywhere else, I can't see DD letting him play with better players in the top six. GO SABRES!!!

Bylsma is too committed to the old hockey saw of "you have to earn your spot." Phuck that. Play Bailey with Eichel and see what he looks like. If any of his veterans are "offended" by that, Bylsma should just tell them if you REALLY deserve a top six position, you wouldn't have had to rely on an injury to get one. Moulson, DeLo, etc., have no legit claim just because Bailey is a rookie in his first NHL game. I fully expect him to do nothing if he plays 8 minutes with inferior skill around him. Bylsma really pisses me off sometimes. GO SABRES!!!

I didn't call him a loonie, because I don't know if he is one of the extreme far right loonies or not. Just to be clear, there is no shortage of extreme far left loonies, either. Trump has to appeal to a certain faction and rhetoric about building walls, securing borders, and the imminent threat of immigrants has been fodder for the fearful for generations. Point is, there will never be a wall no matter what Trump says. It's a means as are all economic systems.
-
I envision some sort of celebrity VP apprentice competition. Trump has no intention of building a wall or anything else. Like all R candidates, he has to make the broad appeal to the base emotions of the loonies on the far right. If he wins the nomination, he will concuss himself from the severe whiplash of his violant spin back to the middle. Building a wall would stem the flow of cheap labor that a faction of his constituency has grown accustomed to over the years, afterall. They wouldn't like that.

Justin Bailey texted/called/recalled/homing pigeoned/DMd by the Sabres
K-9 replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
Homing-pigeoned! That is funny. Maester Murray dispatched a raven to Rochester. -
This really does make the most sense. Take the generational talent and worry about fits later on. But Murray at least has to entertain a substantial offer, no? GO SABRES!!!

Who else does AZ package with OEL for Matthews? GO SABRES!!!

Justin Bailey texted/called/recalled/homing pigeoned/DMd by the Sabres
K-9 replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
Glad Bailey is getting a shot, but for crissakes, Girgs just can't shake the injury bug this year. He's the perfect compliment to Eichel and whatever sniper they can find to add to that line. Damn. GO SABRES!!!
