  1. Does the ice time mean all that much when he's competing for time with the likes of Jamie McBain and the corpse of Robyn Regehr? I'm sure they're happy with him, but I'm not ready to judge a trade when the top piece going the other way is still playing in the NCAA. They're trying to build up this Sabre team in a specific way and Fasching fits that more than McNabb does. I'm not going to evaluate a trade based on where a guy will "probably" play.
  2. There motives are clear as day. Still, the story is going to have to be a really good one if the team thought they could actually get away with this.
  3. I look forward to the future complaint from the NHLPA that blocked shots should count as saves.
  4. They traded for him... or at least that's how it was described at first. It's listed as a future considerations deal and I bet you're right, we ultimately didn't give up anything.
  5. That's definitely a huge part of it.
  6. It doesn't help that I watched it after finishing Daredevil, but the third season of Orange is the New Black was really really bad. I think my wife may be done with it after this one, so I won't have to watch any more of it.
  7. I'd vote for Andreychuk first. I believe he is now the highest career scorer among HoF eligible players who aren't yet in (is Recchi eligible yet?). Pair that up with him having more PP goals than most players have career goals and I think that should be enough. And a quick tangent while looking at the all time scoring list. I didn't realize that Jagr could pass Gordie this year if he can duplicate last year's numbers. He'd be second all time if he hadn't left for the KHL.
  8. A tad bit premature, don't you think? Three pieces of the deal haven't even turned pro yet (actually, it looks like their first pick did get a couple games at the end of year).
  9. When do we update the thread title to "All things mobile apps"?
  10. Given the Slava Voynov stuff, it will be very interesting to see what this incident was. There's already the built in "well you didn't terminate his contract" defense.
  11. I would hate it if you gave me all of your money.
  12. The timing is odd though. If this whole thing goes to court and the judge backs Richards, they will have missed their chance at the buyout.
  13. Nevermind the thought of Lindy actually playing two goalies.
  14. Tolstoy's not the Toronto version of you, the writer of that article is. If there was ever evidence to support banning of gifs, this is it.
  15. Apparently we also picked up a mobile app skin along with Lehner in this deal.
  16. All I'm seeing here are lineups will will convince me to pay for center ice this year. Thanks for that. One quick thought while reading through random comments about Legwand: he could be a useful guy to have as an injury callup from Rochester. At a specific time in the season, being able to recall someone with that level of experience could be a very good thing.
  17. But hey, if you call it logical, then it must make sense! I think we may have found Toronto's wookie.
  18. I read this description and all I can think of is Angelo Esposito, granted, he didn't fall anywhere near that far.
  19. I'm not usually into these things but I noticed two very bright non-stars in the western sky and had to figure out what they were. It turns out that Jupiter and Venus are right next to each other in the sky right now.
  20. Sitting here watching the Dark Knight Rises really makes me want to get a PS4 for Arkham Knight. I don't know how I'm going to hold off.
  21. Just a random name that many seem to think Boston's after. I think they'll do something else because it sure does look strange having back to back picks. That's got trade written all over it. Come on Boston, be the one to make that offer sheet! Further establish the stupidity.
  22. I completely forgot that they now have 14 and 15. So maybe they do make a hard push towards Hanifin now. I'm sure there's something more but I will be happy if it does just wind up being ineptitude. Edit: I'd suggest O'Reilly, but I doubt they have the money to make that work.
  23. But if they're dead set on someone they have going at, say 16th overall, there's not much we can do to help with that. They probably don't have the time to make one deal and then turn around and make another one to improve on that 21st pick. Too much uncertainty there.
  24. That so called dropoff in talent that people keep mentioning is somewhere between 15 and 21 though, isn't it?
  25. Maybe they trade all three to move up to #1 and pick Eichel. :P
