Are Wednesday weddings common in Russia?

I personally don't believe in it, but lots of people like to push the idea of not trading within the division. Boston seemed to take that approach with Hamilton, so why would they have sent Seguin here? Aren't those guys like 8 feet tall? The wear and tear on them from their sport should be a bit different than hockey. I'd be curious to see if there are some examples out there of hockey players going through it... or even non-giants in other sports.

Lombardi can't be too surprised about it though. He had to know Boston would probably send him somewhere else given their current goalie situation. You open the door for Jones to be sent to a close rival when you trade him to a team that doesn't need a goalie.

It sounds like your issue is more with the players' unions than the NCAA.

Does the ice time mean all that much when he's competing for time with the likes of Jamie McBain and the corpse of Robyn Regehr? I'm sure they're happy with him, but I'm not ready to judge a trade when the top piece going the other way is still playing in the NCAA. They're trying to build up this Sabre team in a specific way and Fasching fits that more than McNabb does. I'm not going to evaluate a trade based on where a guy will "probably" play.

There motives are clear as day. Still, the story is going to have to be a really good one if the team thought they could actually get away with this.

They traded for him... or at least that's how it was described at first. It's listed as a future considerations deal and I bet you're right, we ultimately didn't give up anything.

I'd vote for Andreychuk first. I believe he is now the highest career scorer among HoF eligible players who aren't yet in (is Recchi eligible yet?). Pair that up with him having more PP goals than most players have career goals and I think that should be enough. And a quick tangent while looking at the all time scoring list. I didn't realize that Jagr could pass Gordie this year if he can duplicate last year's numbers. He'd be second all time if he hadn't left for the KHL.
