  1. They're talking about how if you make consecutive posts in the same thread, it merges them together. Personally, I have no problem with it as it keeps things looking more clean, less repeating sigs and avatars.
  2. Those systems almost always wind up becoming a d measuring contest. And strangely enough, chz probably wound up winning the last round.
  3. Wasn't there a hand on one poster's @ss a coulple days ago?
  4. But Stephen A Smith yelled it really loudly, so it must be true.
  5. I'm just getting to all of the Kingpin back story right now. He's a very interesting character.
  6. I just went back and looked up what sparked all of that. That whole thing is actually a very good lesson for new posters. Don't inject politics into any thread. It never ends well. Looking back on it, that was the sole reason why my block list earned itself a new member that day. I removed him earlier today thanks to this thread.
  7. I love looking at my list of blocked posters. It's nothing but 2 or 3 different user names he created. The kid was dumb enough to always use a picture of himself as his avatar, so it was blatantly obvious that it was the same guy each time. Edit: And for the new people who may be thinking he was banned because of his user name, that's not the case. He would spew some of the most hateful garbage imaginable and he got a quick booting.
  8. It's a Sabrespace mystery! I can't wait until we unravel all the threads and trace it back to Battista.
  9. I might like it in a couple years, but I just can't see any point this year where we're running 4 centers who are 22 and younger. Even if it's a Rob Niedermeyer-type, they pretty much have to add a vet or two into that group.
  10. Ahhh, you said SNES. I only played a handful of those games in college on emulators (Mario World, Mario Kart, Zelda, and Super Metroid). That's very different than the original Donkey Kong, jumping over barrels and fireballs.
  11. You can't be talking about the original Donkey Kong then. That was as basic as it gets. That and there was no Y button.
  12. They're not as big of a concern. It's the first round guys who are most likely to be in line for nice raises. Baptiste and Bailey are guys who, unless they thrive immediately, will be in line for your standard qualifying offer deals. Eichel, Reinhart, and if he starts to progress, Zadorov all hitting in back-to-back years could make for some interesting cap maneuvers. Kane is also scheduled to hit UFA the same year the Eichel and Reinhart ELCs expire. At this point it might be helpful to have a few more guys whose contracts are on a completely different timetable. With so many guys hitting at once, it brings up memories of the 2006 offseason.
  13. Do you ever actually use the second button in Donkey Kong? I thought it only used a button for jumping. Oh, and thanks to this discussion, I know have that game's music stuck in my head.
  14. So was Melrose. All I'm trying to suggest here is that heavily limiting the minutes of the so called franchise Messiah isn't always all that welcomed. Bylsma won't throw Eichel to the wolves, but he won't be giving him the Stamkos treatment either. If Reinhart also sticks with the big club, there's only so much ice time limiting you can do with the young centers. Someone needs to be out there. And yes, they can always give them time on the wing to get their feet wet, but that last point still remains the same, someone needs to be out there at center.
  15. They almost have to at this point. At some point they're going to be facing a gauntlet of expiring ELC deals and it'll be good to have other guys on a different time table.
  16. How about when you hit two buttons at the same time? I'm trying to picture making Mario jump while he's sprinting but not being able to feel those buttons beneath your thumb. It's the little things, the exact distance between those buttons is something that is so engraved in my mind.
  17. I don't know why, but the part in bold may just be the funniest thing I've read in a long time. You aim high, NG. :worthy: So who else thought this post was one giant hyperlink?
  18. The center ice circle needs to be shaped like a burger. If they can turn a car dealer's face into a center ice circle in Boston, Rochester can turn one into a burger.
  19. Sorry, I'm late to this party as I'm just seeing the thread now. "Lucking into one" is very standard practice in modern science. Just ask the folks over at Pfizer and their use of Viagra. They're just recently trying to use it again for its originally planned purposes.
  20. I wonder how often people actually notice post counts. The only time I ever really notice them is when someone specifically mentions them. I like the avatar idea though. I usually identify people by their avatar far more often than by their name. Of course, constant changes mess with that. I know many probably don't care about having an avatar at all, but it is a good way of distinguishing yourself from the masses.
  21. In terms of making this place more friendly for the new posters, hopefully this thread can keep going the way it has so far. It may be a good thing to have pinned for a good period of time. So far it seems to give a decent idea of the mixed batch of personalities we have around here.
  22. That Gallo kid is huge. It seems like they have a few linebacker sized players down there in Texas. Just out of curiosity, I just checked out their roster online and noticed the name Delino DeShields. My immediate thought was that he has to be like 50 years old. I had no idea he has a kid in the majors.
  23. Are they even remotely playable on a phone? If I'm playing those games, I want the old controller in my hand.
  24. I'm more intrigued by the name Burgerplex.
  25. Of course, Barry Mellrose quickly got fired after limiting Stamkos' ice time for the first dozen or so games that year.
