  1. Their brand in the Boston area (StopnShop) did the gas thing too, but it was very hard to actually find a station that used those points. They don't have stations on the store lot in most places either since space is at a prime there. I did go to their stores as they tended to have the best prices of the options available, but the gas didn't factor in at all there either. I'd hit a station the rare time I found myself in the right area, but most of the time, the points expired.
  2. That 2 out of 15 years is also 2 out of 5 years. That alone blows the other two out of the water. I still can't shake the fact that we have an entire generation of fans now who haven't seen a playoff game. Sports is such a "what have you done for me lately" business, so I'd very gladly take recent Lions years over ours. That and they've got a bit more to fall back on than we do. I know this was specifically football, but I have a hard time separating the rest from it.
  3. I'm not there for the gas rewards. They don't add up quickly enough for it to be worthwhile. We just like the store better. I would like to know how I got the 60 cents though. They give a summary on the receipt, but there was nothing there other than the note that I had earned 60 cents in rewards. We didn't buy anything out of the ordinary. But hey, that one time saving at the pump of around $9 was a nice touch. I'm not so sure I could lower the price on the groceries I bought by that much if I were to shop around.
  4. Keep in mind that lines in trailers aren't always in the movie. That and they can cut together certain scenes to make the trailer say whatever they want it to.
  5. To get me to go to a gas station that I already go to anyway since their price is usually the lowest already?
  6. But you'd gladly take the $4.80 savings you would get from a discount that you have no idea how you actually earned it.
  7. The best part is that there is also a cars for kids and it is a completely different group. I've actually heard a commercial from them once back-to-back with a kars one. I wanted to rip the radio out of my car.
  8. We have one of those supermarkets that gives you a 5 cent discount per gallon of gas for each $100 you spend there. This past weekend during our normal trip to buy groceries, I somehow earned 60 cents off per gallon. I have no idea how that happened, but all I know is that filling up my tank last night for less than $20 was awesome.
  9. I hope these guys wind up hating that character. They spend all this money to dress up as someone they know absolutely nothing about. I kind of want them to be that guy who bought a Leino jersey a couple days after we signed him.
  10. I know how their history looks, but I don't think Detroit should be included in the same list as those two teams right now. They've at least made the playoffs a handful of times in recent years. They're at least one rung above both Buffalo and Cleveland on the ladder of suck. And I don't know why this came to mind this morning, but I think it is a great example of why the Buffalo Bills are the Buffalo Bills. Over his career, Drew Bledsoe lost his starting job to three different QBs...
  11. Is she actually doing anything right now though? All we ever hear about is where she used to work, apparently 10 years ago.
  12. I saw it earlier too. The big one is Jankowski. For some reason I thought he was only in his third year.
  13. It really was an ideal situation for Darby. Corners with any talent seem to work out pretty well in a Rex scheme. Then couple that with having a guy like Glimore already out there, it couldn't get much better. I probably should have left Whaley out of my post all together. A negative against Rex doesn't automatically give Whaley a pass. They can both screw up.
  14. He might not be one to throw anyone under the bus, but I'm completely content with pinning the failures of this defense more on him than anyone else (ie. Whaley). Whaley handed him essentially the same exact defense that was great last year, adding in the potential defensive rookie of the year. I'm not so sure what else Whaley was supposed to do.
  15. How could Fiorina be at any risk since she's from the private sector?
  16. Apparently this possibility is out there for a handful of highly drafted players this year. We'll have to wait and see if any actually hit free agency, but maybe we're seeing a slight change in practice here, more guys willing to take this chance. Only time will tell.
  17. But what's the bitchfest in the comment section about? You can't leave us hanging on this one.
  18. Why not just bring in Bernard Pollard for the marketing campaign?
  19. And some people hit the cliff a bit earlier than others.
  20. So why don't you have these discussions with him instead of ranting it like this for all to see? The whole thing is coming off as very childish from both sides. Now you might respond by trying to point the finger at him. Whether that's true or not, at some point someone needs to take the higher ground and not continue this endless pissing match.
  21. We all know you stole the money from the library.
  22. I won't ignore the possibility, but what I see is a 32 year old on the downside of his career. It's a young man's game now.
  23. I can't wait until the argument about locking a thread about locking a GDT.
  24. I had something happen like that once. I was in the left lane passing someone while it was raining. An all out downpour opened up and I couldn't see a thing in any direction. So I slowed down a bit and held the lane. If I can't see, I'm not changing lanes. After a little bit, I suddenly had a cop behind me who turned on his flashers (whatever you want to call them). I have no idea how he could see anything, but I got the hell out of his way.
  25. I have it on PS3 and I bought it way back on its release date. So it's definitely not a game of the year edition... unless the developer was very arrogant and knew that way in advance.
